THAMES COUNTY COUNCIL
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
Whangamata Fire Appliance Loan 1971
PURSUANT to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Thames County Council resolves as follows:

"That, for the purpose of providing the annual charges on a loan of $10,000 to be raised by the Thames County Council under section 58 of the Fire Services Act 1949 for the purpose of purchasing a new fire appliance, the said County Council hereby makes a special rate of 0.05593c in the dollar on the rateable value of all rateable property within the Whangamata Urban Fire District (i.e., Whangamata County Town); and that the special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of the loan and shall be payable yearly on the 20th day of August in each and every year during the currency of the loan, being a period of 10 years or until the loan is fully paid off."

The foregoing resolution was passed at a meeting of the Thames County Council held on the 6th day of October 1971.

WELLINGTON CITY COUNCIL
NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND
IN the matter of the Public Works Act 1928, the Health Act 1956, and the Municipal Corporations Act 1954 and their respective amendments:

NOTICE is hereby given that the Wellington City Council proposes, under the provisions of the above-named Acts and all other Acts, powers, and authorities enabling it in that behalf, to execute a certain public work, namely, for sanitary works (disposal of refuse) in Careys Gully, off Happy Valley Road, in the City of Wellington, and for the purpose of that public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken. And notice is hereby further given that a plan of the land which is required to be taken is deposited in the public office of the Town Clerk to the said Council in the Municipal Office Building, Mercer Street, in the said City, and is there open for inspection, without fee, by all persons during ordinary office hours, and that any person affected by the execution of the said public work or the taking of the said land should, if he has any objection to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of the said land, not being an objection to the amount or payment of compensation, send his written objection, within 40 days from the first publication of this notice, to the Wellington City Council, addressed to the Town Clerk at his said office. And notice is hereby further given that if any objection is made as aforesaid, a public hearing of that objection will be held, unless the objector otherwise requires, and each objector will be advised of the time and place of that hearing and at that hearing each objector will be advised of the reason for the proposed taking.

ALL that parcel of land containing two thousand one hundred and twenty-four acres (2,124 A.) more or less, situate partly in the City of Wellington and partly in Blocks IX, X, XII, and XIII of the Port Nicholson Survey District, being part Section 7, Upper Kaiwharawhara District, Sections 38, 40, 41, 70, and part Sections 6, 37, 39, 42, 43, 45, and 69, Terewhiti District, and part Sections 24, 25, and 27, Owhiro District, and being also Lot 1 on Deposited Plan 29398, and being all of the land comprised and described in Certificate of Title No. 7A/705, Wellington Registry, together with right of way created by Transfer No. 783083 and subject to: (1) right of way reserved by Proclamation 508582; and (2) Compensation Certificate No. 779151; and (3) right of way reserved by Transfer No. 783085. The said land is situated off Happy Valley Road, in the City of Wellington, and is part of the land commonly known as Careys Gully.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND FOR ROAD
NOTICE is hereby given that the Bay of Islands County Council intends, under the provisions of the Public Works Act 1928, to take the areas of land described in the Schedule hereto for road; and notice is hereby further given that a plan of the area of land proposed to be taken is deposited at the office of the said Council, situated at Main Road, Kawakawa, and may there be inspected without fee by all persons during ordinary office hours. All persons affected by the taking of the said land, and who have an objection thereto, not being an objection as to the amount of compensation, must state their objection in writing and send the same to the County Clerk, Bay of Islands County Council, P.O. Box 11, Kawakawa, so as to reach him not later than 40 days after the first publication of this notice. If any objection is received, a public hearing of the same will be held, unless the objector otherwise requires, and each objector will be advised of the time and place of such hearing.

OTAGO CENTRAL ELECTRIC POWER BOARD
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
Generation and Extensions Loan 1971
Moved by: Mr Hayes.
Seconded by: Mr Campbell.
PURSUANT to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Otago Central Electric Power Board hereby resolves as follows:

That, for the purpose of providing the annual charges on a loan of three hundred thousand dollars ($300,000), authorised to be raised by the Otago Central Electric Power Board under the above-mentioned Act for the following purposes: Purchasing plant and equipment, extending lines and substations and erecting power stations within the Board's district and erecting buildings; the said Otago Central Electric Power Board hereby makes a special rate of 0.0132 of one cent in the dollar on the capital value of the rateable property in the whole of the Board's district of supply, and that the special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of the loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st days of June and December of each and every year during the currency of the loan, being a period of twenty-five (25) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
