boundaries of Section 26, aforesaid, and the production of the
last-mentioned boundary to the middle of the Manuherikia
River; thence generally north-easterly and north-westerly up
the middle of that river to its intersection with the western
side of a road at the confluence of the east and west branches
of the Manuherikia River; thence southerly along the western
side of that road and its production to the generally north-
eastern boundary of Run 685; thence generally north-westerly
along north-eastern boundaries of Runs 685 and 201F to a
point in line with the north-eastern boundary of Run 684;
thence south-easterly to and along that boundary and north-
easterly along the north-western boundary of that Run 684
and its production to the middle of a road; thence south-
easterly to and along the north-eastern boundary of Run 684
to the north-western boundary of Run 322E; thence north
easterly along a right line to Trig. E on the north-eastern
boundary of Run 322E; thence south-easterly along the north-
eastern boundaries of Run 322E and Run 582 to the south-
eastern corner of Run 582; thence generally north-easterly
along the generally north-western boundary of Run 227 and
its production to the middle of Clear Stream; thence generally
south-easterly down the middle of Clear Stream to a point
opposite the left bank of a tributary of Clear Stream forming
part of the eastern boundary of Run 227c; thence south-
easterly to and along the left bank of that tributary to the
northernmost corner of Run 227c; thenca generally south-
westerly along the generally south-eastern boundary of Run
227c to the summit of the Hawkdun Range; thence generally
south-easterly along the summit of that range to the point of
commencement.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL PURSUANT to the Agricultural Pests Destruction Act 1967, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.

ORDER

  1. (1) This order may be cited as the Blackstone Pest Destruction District Order 1971.

(2) This order shall come into force on the 15th day of July 1971.

  1. The boundaries of the Blackstone Pest Destruction District, which was constituted by Order in Council on the 3rd day of May 1950*, are hereby altered and redefined and, as from the commencement of this order, the boundaries of the said district shall be those specified in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE

BOUNDARIES OF BLACKSTONE PEST DESTRUCTION DISTRICT All that area in the Otago Land District, Counties of Maniototo, Vincent, and Waitaki, containing 157,850 acres, more or less, bounded by a line commencing at Mount Ida on the eastern boundary of Idaburn Survey District and proceeding generally south-westerly along the south-eastern boundary of part Run 227D to the north-eastern side of No. 85 State Highway; thence north-westerly along the north-eastern side of that highway to a point in line with the north-western side of the Ida Valley-Omakau Road; thence south-westerly to and along the north-western side of that road to a point in line with the north-western side of the Ida Valley Back Road; thence south-westerly to and along the north-western side of that road to the southernmost corner of Section 12, Block XVI, Blackstone Survey District; thence north-westerly along the south-western boundary of Section 12 and its production to the north-western side of the Ida Valley-Omakau Road; thence south-westerly along the north-western side of that road to its intersection with the south-western side of Boundary Road; thence north-westerly along the south-western side of that road and its production to the north-western side of the Poolburn-Auripo Road; thence south-westerly along the north-western side of that road to the southernmost corner of Section 2, Block V, Poolburn Survey District; thence south-westerly along the south-eastern boundary of Run 244B, Block V, aforesaid, and its production across Poolburn-Auripo Road, and again along the south-eastern boundary of Run 244B, aforesaid, to the southernmost corner of that run; thence north-westerly and south-westerly along the north-eastern and north-western boundary of Block XI, and the north-western boundary of Block X, Poolburn Survey District, and Block V, Tiger Hill Survey District, to a point in line with the south-western side of the Ophir-Moa Creek Road; thence north-westerly to and along the south-western side of that road to the south-western side of the Ida Valley-Omakau Road; thence generally westerly along the generally southern side of that road to the easternmost corner of Run 569 to the south-eastern corner of Run 569A; thence westerly along the southern boundary of Run 569A and its production to the south-eastern corner of part Run 570; thence northerly and north-westerly along the eastern and north-eastern boundaries of part Run 570 to the east shore of Lake Roxburgh; thence generally north-easterly along that shore of Lake Roxburgh to the Manuherikia River; thence generally north-easterly to and along the middle of the main stream of the Manuherikia River to a point in line with the south-western boundary of Section 26, Block II, Tiger Hill Survey District; thence south-easterly and north-easterly to and along the south-western and south-eastern boundaries of that section to the easternmost corner of Section 26, aforesaid; thence generally easterly along the generally southern side of the Ida Valley-Omakau Road to the north-eastern corner of Run 244G, the point of commencement.
