GREETING:
WHEREAS, by Order in Council made on the 26th day of January 1971*, you, the said Denis McGrath, Keith Robert Congreve, Miriam Patricia Dell, Desmond Gerald Nolan, and Adrian George Rodda, were appointed to be a Commission to receive representations upon, inquire into, and report upon how best to give effect in New Zealand to the principle of equal pay for male and female employees:
And whereas by the said Order in Council the said Commission was required to submit its report not later than the 31st day of July 1971:
And whereas it is expedient that the time for so reporting should be extended as hereinafter provided:
Now, therefore, I, Sir Arthur Espie Porritt, Baronet, the Governor-General of New Zealand, acting pursuant to the Commissions of Inquiry Act 1908, and by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council hereby extend until the 30th day of September 1971 the time for submission of the said report, without prejudice to the continuation of the liberty conferred upon you by the said Order in Council to report your proceedings and recommendations from time to time if you should judge it expedient so to do, and do hereby confirm the said Order in Council and the Commission thereby constituted, save as modified by these presents.
Given in Executive Council under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General this 26th day of July 1971.

Commission of Inquiry Into Psychiatric Services at Oakley Hospital

ORDER IN COUNCIL
To all to whom these presents shall come, and to:
CHARLES PIERREPONT HUTCHINSON, Esquire, M.B.E., of Auckland, Queen's Counsel;
DAVID JOHN HARDING BARLOW, Esquire, of Melbourne in the State of Victoria in the Commonwealth of Australia, Medical Practitioner; and
WILLIAM HUTCHINGS, Esquire, of Lower Hutt, retired Public Servant:
GREETING:
WHEREAS it has been alleged that questions have arisen out of or concerning the administration by the Department of Health of Oakley Hospital in Auckland in relation to alleged deficiencies in the staffing of the said hospital and in the psychiatric services provided in the said hospital, and it is desirable that inquiry should be made into the deficiencies so alleged and into the cause or causes and the cure or cures thereof, and into any means whereby the said services may be improved:
Now therefore, pursuant to the Commissions of Inquiry Act 1908, I, Sir Arthur Espie Porritt, Baronet, the Governor-General of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby appoint you, the said Charles Pierrepont Hutchinson, David John Harding Barlow, and William Hutchings to be a Commission to inquire into and report upon the following matters:

The staffing needs of the said hospital and the extent of any deficiencies therein.

The state of the psychiatric services at all levels in the said hospital.

The cause or causes of any deficiencies found to exist in respect of such staffing or such services and the means whereby such deficiencies may be cured and such services improved.

Any other matters arising out of the premises which may come to your notice in the course of your inquiries and which you may consider should be investigated in connection therewith, and any matters affecting the premises which you consider should be brought to the attention of the Government.
And, with the like advice and consent, I do hereby appoint you the said Charles Pierrepont Hutchinson to be Chairman of the said Commission:
And for the better enabling you to carry these presents into effect you are hereby authorised and empowered to make and conduct any inquiry under these presents, in accordance with the Commissions of Inquiry Act 1908, at such times and places as you consider expedient, with power to adjourn from time to time and place to place as you think fit, and so that these presents shall continue in force and the inquiry may at any time and place be resumed although not regularly adjourned from time to time or from place to place: And you are hereby strictly charged and directed that you shall not at any time publish or otherwise disclose, save to me in pursuance of these presents or by my direction, the contents or purport of any report so made or to be made by you or any evidence or information obtained by you in the exercise of the powers hereby conferred upon you except such evidence or information as is received in the course of a sitting open to the public:
And it is hereby declared that the powers hereby conferred shall be exercisable notwithstanding the absence at any time of any one of the members hereby appointed so long as the Chairman or a member deputed by the Chairman to act in his stead and one other member is present and concurs in the exercise of such powers:
And it is hereby further declared that you have liberty to report your proceedings and findings under this Commission from time to time if you judge it expedient so to do:
And, using all due diligence, you are required to report to me in writing under your hands not later than the 6th day of September 1971 your findings and opinions on the matters aforesaid, together with such recommendations as you think fit to make in respect thereof.

Alteration and Extension of the Boundaries of the Manuhierikia Pest Destruction District (Notice No. 73 Ag. 20891A)

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to the Agricultural Pests Destruction Act 1967, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.
ORDER
-
(1) This order may be cited as the Manuherikia Pest Destruction District Order 1971.
(2) This order shall come into force on the 15th day of July 1971. -
The boundaries of the Manuherikia Pest Destruction District, which was constituted by Order in Council on the 12th day of February 1953*, are hereby altered and redefined and, as from the commencement of this order, the boundaries of the said district shall be those specified in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE
BOUNDARIES OF THE MANUHERIKIA PEST DESTRUCTION DISTRICT
ALL that area in the Otago Land District, Counties of Maniototo and Vincent, containing 151,543 acres, more or less, bounded by a line commencing at the north-eastern corner of Run 244G on Tiger Hill Survey District, and proceeding south-easterly along the south-western side of the Ida Valley-Omakau Road to the south-western side of the Ophar-Moa Creek Road; thence south-easterly along the south-western side of that road and its production to the south-eastern side of the Poolburn-Moa Creek Road; thence south-westerly along the south-eastern side of that road to a point in line with the south-western boundary of Section 11, Block XV, Tiger Hill Survey District; thence north westerly to and along the south-western boundary of Section 11, aforesaid to the north-western corner of Ida Valley Settlement situated in Block XIV, Tiger Hill Survey District; thence generally south-westerly along the north-western boundary of that settlement and its production to the north-eastern boundary of Section 7, Block XIV, aforesaid; thence south-easterly and south-westerly along the north-eastern and south-eastern boundaries of Section 7, aforesaid and the production of the last-mentioned boundary to the north-eastern corner of Section 2, Block XIII, aforesaid; thence south-westerly and north-westerly along the south-eastern and south-western boundaries
