NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND

IN the matter of the Public Works Act 1928 and its amendments, and in the matter of the Soil Conservation and Rivers Control Act 1941 and its amendments, notice is hereby given that the Otago Catchment Board intends to take, under the provisions of the Public Works Act 1928 and the Soil Conservation and Rivers Control Act 1941, the entirety of the land described in the Schedule hereto for the purpose of soil conservation and river control. All persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said entirety of the land, are hereby required and called upon to set forth in writing any objections to the execution of the said public work or the taking of the entirety of the said land, not being an objection to the amount of payment of compensation, and to send such written objection within 40 days from the first publication of this notice to the Secretary, Otago Catchment Board, 70 Stafford Street, Dunedin.

GISBORNE CITY COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Street Improvements Loan 1970 of $300,000

PURSUANT to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Gisborne City Council hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing the annual charges on a loan of $300,000 authorised to be raised by the Gisborne City Council under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of providing storm water drains and constructing footpaths, the Gisborne City Council hereby makes a special rate of 0.110c in the $ upon the rateable value of all rateable property, comprising the whole of the City of Gisborne; and that the special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of the loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of August in each and every year during the currency of the loan, being a period of 30 years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

The foregoing resolution was passed at a meeting of the Gisborne City Council held on 18 May 1971.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Abbattoir Additional Loan 1970 of $130,000

PURSUANT to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Gisborne City Council hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing the annual charges on a loan of $130,000 authorised to be raised by the Gisborne City Council under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of meeting the additional costs of making alterations and improvements to the City Abattoir, the Gisborne City Council hereby makes a special rate of 0.044c in the $ upon the rateable value of all rateable property, comprising the whole of the City of Gisborne, and that the special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of the loan,

and be payable yearly on the 1st day of August in each and every year during the currency of the loan, being a period of 35 years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

Renewal Loan No. 1, 1971 of $31,700

PURSUANT to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Gisborne City Council hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing the annual charges on a loan of $31,700 authorised to be raised by the Gisborne City Council under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of repaying on maturity those portions of the Bridges Loan 1952 of $274,000 and the Sewerage Loan 1960 of $800,000 which mature on 1 May 1971 and 1 June 1971, the Gisborne City Council hereby makes a special rate of 0.013c. in the $ upon the rateable value of all rateable property, comprising the whole of the City of Gisborne, and that the special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of the loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of August in each and every year during the currency of the loan, being a period of 24 years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

COUNTY OF OPOTIKI

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Doctor’s Housing Loan 1971, $17,000

THAT, pursuant to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Opotiki County Council resolved on the 19th day of May 1971, as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing the annual charges on a loan of $17,000 authorised to be raised by the Opotiki County Council under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of the purchase of an existing dwellinghouse or the building of a new dwellinghouse as a doctor’s residence, the said Opotiki County Council hereby makes a special rate of 0.0415 cents in the dollar upon the rateable value of all rateable property within the County of Opotiki, and that the said special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of the loan, and shall be payable half yearly on the 1st day of April and the 1st day of October in each and every year during the currency of the loan, being a period of twenty-five (25) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

EAST COAST BAYS BOROUGH COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Repayment Loan 1971, $33,100

PURSUANT to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the East Coast Bays Borough Council resolved at its meeting held on the 18th day of May 1971, that for the purpose of providing the annual charges on a loan of $33,100 authorised to be raised by the East Coast Bays Borough Council under the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, for the purpose of repaying on maturity the Knights and Carlisle Supplementary Loan 1966 of $7,160, which matures on 21 March 1972, and those portions of the Roading Loan No. 3, 1963, $2,000, which matures on 7 May, 1971, the Browns Bay Reserve Loan 1965, $8,000, the Sewer Reticulation No. 2 Area Supplementary Loan 1965, $11,600, and the Sewer Reticulation No. 3 Area, 1965, $11,200, which mature on 20 December 1971, the said Council hereby makes a special rate of 0.01284 cent in the dollar on the unimproved value of all rateable property in the East Coast Bays Borough, which rate the said Council, as security for the loan, doth hereby appropriate and pledge as an annual-recurring rate during the currency of the loan to be payable yearly on the 1st day of August each year.
