The Motor Launch (Lake Taupo) Notice 1971—Department of Internal Affairs

PURSUANT to the Motor Launch Regulations 1962*, the Minister of Marine and Fisheries hereby gives the following notice:

  1. (a) This notice may be cited as the Motor Launch (Lake Taupo) Notice 1971.
    (b) The notice shall come into force on the date of its publication in the Gazette, and shall remain in force until further notice.

  2. The Motor Launch (Lake Taupo) Notice 1970† as amended‡ is hereby revoked.

  3. Subject to the conditions set forth in the Second Schedule hereto regulations 11 and 12 of the Motor Launch Regulations 1962 shall not apply with respect to the areas described in the First Schedule hereto.

FIRST SCHEDULE

  1. All that area of water at Whangamata Bay, Lake Taupo, bounded on the sides by parallel lines 150 yd apart, extending in a 230° true direction 200 yd from the edge of the water, the north-western boundary commencing 75 yd south-eastwards of the breakwater.

  2. All that area of water in Kaiapo Bay, Lake Taupo, bounded on the sides by parallel lines 100 yd apart, extending in a 237° true direction 200 yd from the edge of the water, the south-eastern boundary commencing 40 yd north-eastwards of the south-eastern end of the beach.

  3. All that area of water at Jerusalem Bay, Lake Taupo, bounded on the sides by lines 100 yd apart at the edge of the water, the northern boundary in a 080° true direction 200 yd from the edge of the water, commencing in the north-western corner of the southern cove and the southern boundary extending in a 100° true direction from the edge of the water.

  4. All that area of water at Five Mile Bay, Lake Taupo, bounded on the sides by parallel lines 150 yd apart, extending in a 250° true direction, 200 yd from the edge of the water, the northern boundary commencing off the end of the northern access road to the bay.

  5. All that area of water at Five Mile Bay, Lake Taupo, bounded on the sides by parallel lines 150 yd apart, extending in a 250° true direction, 200 yd from the edge of the water, the southern boundary commencing 175 yd northwards of the Tawhaa Road access.

  6. All that area of water at Rotongaio, Lake Taupo, bounded on the sides by parallel lines 150 yards apart extending in a 307° true direction 200 yd from the edge of the water, the south-western boundary commencing 300 yd north-eastwards of the north-eastern boundary of the motor camp.

  7. All that area of water at Hatepe, Lake Taupo, bounded on the sides by parallel lines 150 yd apart, extending in a 267° true direction 200 yd from the edge of the water, the northern boundary commencing 600 yd southwards of the point at the southern end of the settlement.

  8. All that area of water at Moturere Bay, Lake Taupo, bounded on the sides by parallel lines 100 yd apart, extending in a 338° true direction 200 yd from the edge of the water, the north-eastern boundary commencing 100 yd south-westwards of the Bulli Point end of the bay.

  9. All that area of water at Mission Bay, Lake Taupo, bounded on the sides by parallel lines 100 yd apart extending in a 350° true direction 200 yd from the edge of the water, the western boundary commencing 1,200 yd eastwards of Mission Point.

  10. All that area of water at Maraetai Bay, Lake Taupo, bounded on the sides by parallel lines 150 yd apart, extending in a 310° true direction 200 yd from the edge of the water, the northern boundary commencing 350 yd southwards of the boat ramp.

  11. All that area of water at Stump Bay, Lake Taupo, bounded on the sides by parallel lines 150 yd apart, extending in a 287° true direction 200 yd from the edge of the water, the northern boundary commencing 150 yd southwards of the northern corner of the bay.

  12. All that area of water at Stump Bay, Lake Taupo, bounded on the sides by parallel lines 150 yd apart, extending in a 018° true direction 200 yd from the edge of the water, the western boundary commencing 1 nautical mile eastwards of the point at the eastern side of the Tongariro River delta.

  13. All that area of water at Waihi Bay, Lake Taupo, bounded on the sides by parallel lines 100 yd apart, extending in a 020° true direction 200 yd from the edge of the water, the western boundary commencing 350 yd eastwards of the mouth of the Omoho Stream.

  14. All that area of water at Pukawa Bay, Lake Taupo, bounded on the sides by parallel lines 100 yd apart extending in a 070° true drection 200 yd from the edge of the water, the south-eastern boundary commencing at a point 50 yd north-west of the rocks at the south end of Pukawa Bay.

  15. All that area of water at Wildfish Bay, Lake Taupo, bounded on the sides by parallel lines 150 yd apart, extending in a 160° true direction, 200 yd from the edge of the water, the eastern boundary commencing 600 yd south-westwards of Kuratau Spit.

  16. All that area of water at Te Hape Bay, Lake Taupo, bounded on the sides by parallel lines 150 yd apart, extending in a 085° true direction, 200 yd from the edge of the water, the northern boundary commencing 1,000 yd southwards of the mouth of the Whareroa Stream.

  17. All that area of water at Whanganui Bay, Lake Taupo, bounded on the sides by parallel lines 100 yd apart, extending in a 068° true direction 200 yd from the edge of the water, the southern boundary commencing 50 yd from the south end of the beach.

  18. All that area of water at Waihaha Bay, Lake Taupo, bounded on the sides by parallel lines 100 yd apart, extending in a 133° true direction 200 yards from the edge of the water, the southern boundary commencing 50 yd from the southern end of the beach.

  19. All that area of water at Waihora Bay, Lake Taupo, bounded on the sides by parallel lines 100 yd apart, extending in a 150° true direction 200 yd from the edge of the water, the north-eastern boundary commencing 350 yd south-westwards of the mouth of the Waihora Stream.

  20. All that area of water at Kawakawa Bay, Lake Taupo, bounded on the sides by parallel lines 100 yd apart, extending in a 225° true direction 200 yd from the edge of the water, the south-eastern boundary commencing 300 yd north-westwards of the eastern corner of the bay.

SECOND SCHEDULE

EACH access lane shall be marked as follows:

  1. Two transit posts at least 8 ft high with a distance of not less than 10 ft or more than 20 ft between and painted with 12-in. bright orange and black bands shall be erected on land in line with each side of the access lane, the first post being sited on the lake margin at normal lake level.

  2. On each side of the transit posts sited on the lake margin at normal lake level there shall be fastened in line with the sides of the access lane a noticeboard measuring not less than 2 ft 6 in. by 2 ft painted bright orange with black lettering in the following form:

“NOTICE

MOTOR LAUNCH REGULATIONS 1962

Access lane through which motor launches and water skiers may pass at speeds greater than 5 miles per hour.

Bathers Keep Out”

  1. Where practicable, marker buoys either barrel, drum, or spherical shaped, painted bright orange with a vertical black stripe, shall be moored 50 yd and 200 yd from the lake margin at normal lake level and in line with each set of transit posts.

The Motor Launch (Paraparaumu Beach and Raumati Beach) Notice 1971—Hutt County Council

PURSUANT to the Motor Launch Regulations 1962*, the Minister of Marine and Fisheries hereby gives the following notice:

  1. (a) This notice may be cited as the Motor Launch (Paraparaumu Beach and Raumati Beach) Notice 1971.
    (b) This notice shall come into force on the date of its publication in the Gazette, and shall remain in force until further notice.

  2. The Motor Launch (Paraparaumu Beach) Notice 1969† is hereby revoked.

  3. Subject to the conditions set forth in the Third Schedule hereto, regulations 11 and 12 of the Motor Launch Regulations 1962 shall not apply with respect to the area described in the First Schedule hereto.
