WELLINGTON CITY COUNCIL
RESOLUTIONS MAKING SPECIAL RATES
THE following resolutions were duly passed at a meeting of the Wellington City Council held on the 12th day of August 1970:
Karori Cemetery (Crematorium) Additional Loan 1970 of $30,000
“PURSUANT to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Wellington City Council hereby resolves as follows:
“That, for the purpose of providing the annual charges on a loan of thirty thousand dollars ($30,000) to be known as Karori Cemetery (Crematorium) Additional Loan 1970 of $30,000, authorised to be raised by the Wellington City Council under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of meeting the additional costs of improving Karori Cemetery Crematorium, the Wellington City Council hereby makes a special rate of decimal nought nought one five of a cent (.0015c) in the dollar on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property within the whole of the City of Wellington, and that the said special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and shall be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each year during the currency of the said loan, being a period of twenty (20) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”
One Way Traffic System Supplementary Loan 1970 of $12,000
“PURSUANT to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Wellington City Council hereby resolves as follows:
“That, for the purpose of providing the annual charges on a loan of twelve thousand dollars ($12,000) to be known as One Way Traffic System Supplementary Loan 1970 of $12,000, authorised to be raised by the Wellington City Council under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of completing the purpose for which the One Way Traffic System Loan 1968 of $200,000 was sanctioned, the Wellington City Council hereby makes a special rate of decimal nought nought one of a cent (.001c) in the dollar on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property within the whole of the City of Wellington, and that the said special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and shall be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each year during the currency of the said loan, being a period of twenty (20) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”
Newtown Park Reserves Redevelopment (Stage II) Loan 1970 of $287,000
“PURSUANT to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Wellington City Council hereby resolves as follows:
“That, for the purpose of providing the annual charges on a loan of two hundred and eighty-seven thousand dollars ($287,000) to be known as Newtown Park Reserves Redevelopment (Stage II) Loan 1970 of $287,000, authorised to be raised by the Wellington City Council under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of redeveloping and improving Newtown Park, the Wellington City Council hereby makes a special rate of decimal nought nought one of a cent (.001c) in the dollar on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property within the whole of the City of Wellington, and that the said special rate shall be an annual recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and shall be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each year during the currency of the said loan, being a period of twenty-five (25) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”
Abattoir Extensions Loan 1970 of $342,000
“PURSUANT to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Wellington City Council hereby resolves as follows:
“That, for the purpose of providing the annual charges on a loan of three hundred and forty-two thousand dollars ($342,000) to be known as Abattoir Extensions Loan 1970 of $342,000, to be raised by the Wellington City Council under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of making extensions to the Municipal Abattoir, the Wellington City Council hereby makes a special rate of decimal nought one six of a cent (.016c) in the dollar on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property within the whole of the City of Wellington, and that the said special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and shall be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each year during the currency of the said loan, being a period of twenty (20) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”
Housing (Nairn Street - Brooklyn Road) Loan No. 2, 1970 of $68,000
“PURSUANT to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Wellington City Council hereby resolves as follows:
“That, for the purpose of providing the annual charges on a loan of sixty-eight thousand dollars ($68,000) to be known as Housing (Nairn Street - Brooklyn Road) Loan No. 2 1970 of $68,000, authorised to be raised by the Wellington City Council under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of erecting flats at Nairn Street and Brooklyn Road, the Wellington City Council hereby makes a special rate of decimal nought nought two five of a cent (.00025c) in the dollar on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property within the whole of the City of Wellington, and that the said special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and shall be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each year during the currency of the said loan, being a period of forty (40) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

CHRISTCHURCH CITY COUNCIL
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATES
Pensioners' Cottages (Arran Crescent) Loan 1970, $36,700 Pensioners' Cottages (Springfield Road) Loan 1970, $58,000 Pensioners' Cottages (Dyers Road) Loan 1970, $50,500
In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956 and its amendments, and all other powers it in that behalf enabling, the Christchurch City Council hereby resolves as follows:
“That, for the purpose of providing principal, interest, and other charges on loans of thirty-six thousand seven hundred dollars ($36,700), fifty-eight thousand dollars ($58,000), and fifty thousand five hundred dollars ($50,500), authorised to be raised by the Christchurch City Council under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of erecting pensioners’ cottages in Arran Crescent, Springfield Road, and Dyers Road, the said Christchurch City Council hereby makes and levies special rates of $.00001525 (decimal nought nought nought one five two five), $.0000245 (decimal nought nought nought nought two four five), and $.000021 (decimal nought nought nought nought two one) respectively on the rateable value, on the basis of the unimproved value, of all rateable property comprised within the City of Christchurch; and that such special rates shall be annual-recurring rates payable on demand during the currency of the loans, being terms of thirty (30) years in each case or until the loans are fully paid off.”
The Christchurch City Council, at a meeting held on the 17th day of August 1970, passed the above resolution.

ELLESMERE COUNTY COUNCIL
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
Doctors’ Surgery Loan 1970
PURSUANT to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Ellesmere County Council hereby resolves as follows:
That, for the purpose of providing the annual charges on a loan of $14,000, authorised to be raised by the Ellesmere County Council under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of erection of a double unit doctors surgery in Leeston, the said Ellesmere County Council hereby makes a special rate of decimal nought, nought two three two of a cent (.00232) in the dollar ($) on the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property in the County of Ellesmere, and that the special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of the loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of the loan, being a period of 20 years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
I hereby certify that the above is a true and correct copy of a resolution passed by the Ellesmere County Council on the 17th day of August 1970.
