SOUTHLAND COUNTY COUNCIL
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
Staff Housing Loan 1969
PURSUANT to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Southland County Council hereby resolves as follows:
That, for the purpose of providing the annual charges on a loan of $50,000, authorised to be raised by the Southland County Council under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of making advances to members of its staff to construct or purchase houses or for the construction and purchase of houses for leasing to members of the Council's staff, the said Southland County Council hereby makes a special rate of 0.00504 cents in the dollar upon the rateable unimproved value of all rateable property in the county comprising the whole of the County of Southland, and that the special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of the loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of the loan, being a period of 20 years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
The above resolution was passed at a meeting of the Southland County Council held on 20 February 1970.

NOTICE OF PRIVATE BILL
PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH PROPERTY AMENDMENT BILL
IN the matter of a Private Bill intituled "An Act to amend the Presbyterian Church Property Act 1885 and to vest the lands and property now held by the Trustees of Saint Paul's Presbyterian Church (Christchurch) Trustees Incorporation Act 1881 in the Presbyterian Church Property Trustees".
NOTICE is hereby given that the Presbyterian Church Property Trustees, a body corporate constituted under the Presbyterian Church Property Act 1885 (hereinafter referred to as "the said Trustees"), intends to apply to the House of Representatives in Parliament assembled for leave to bring in the abovementioned Bill, the short title of which is the Presbyterian Church Property Amendment Act 1970.
The objects of the Bill are to increase the maximum number of persons appointed Presbyterian Church Property Trustees and to provide for the vesting in the Presbyterian Church
Property Trustees of land and property now held by the Trustees of Saint Paul's Presbyterian Church (Christchurch).
The promoter of the Bill is the said the Presbyterian Church Property Trustees whose address for service of notices and communications is at the offices of its duly appointed solicitors, Messrs Macalister, Mazengarb, Parkin and Rose, National Bank Building, 170-186 Featherston Street, Wellington, where a copy of the Bill may be inspected.
Printed copies of the Bill will be deposited in the Private Bill Office, Parliament Buildings, Wellington, on or before the 14th day of August 1970.

NOTICE OF PRIVATE BILL
BAPTIST UNION INCORPORATION AMENDMENT BILL
THE Baptist Union of New Zealand hereby gives notice that it intends to apply for leave to bring in the above-mentioned Private Bill during the present session in Parliament.
The objects of the Bill are to amend the Baptist Union Incorporation Act 1923 (hereinafter called "the principal Act") by:
- Inserting a definition of the Council of the Union.
- Amending the provisions regulating the use of the Common Seal of the Union.
- Empowering the Union to amalgamate the investment of its trust funds.
- Empowering the Union to join with any other Christian denomination in establishing and maintaining any charitable institution and empowering the Union to transfer property to any such institution.
- Removing doubts as to the trusts upon which the Union holds certain properties.
- Empowering the Union to declare land vested in it to be held on certain trusts for individual churches of the Union.
- Altering the provisions in the Sixth Schedule to the principal Act in the cases where churches on whose behalf land is held in trust shall be dissolved, dispersed or reduced in number or shall desire to dissolve or to amalgamate with another church, and making consequential amendments thereto.
The promoter of the Bill is the Baptist Union of New Zealand. Communications or notices to the promoter may be sent to it at Baptist House, 185 Willis Street, Wellington. (P.O. Box 6212, Wellington.)
A copy of the Bill may be inspected at the offices of the promoter at the address stated during normal office hours.

BOROUGH OF FEATHERSTON
PUBLIC NOTICE
Pensioners Flats Loan, 1970-$24,000
PUBLIC notice is hereby given that the Featherston Borough Council proposes at its meeting to be held on the 21st day of September 1970, in the Borough Council Chambers, Fox Street, Featherston, to consider a motion to apply to the Local Authorities Loans Board for its consent to raise the amount of $24,000, for the purposes of erecting accommodation for elderly people.
The loan shall be called: Pensioners Flats Loan 1970.
The term of the loan shall be: 40 years.
The rate of interest shall be: 3Β½ percent per annum.
The security for the loan shall be a special rate of 0.10435c in the dollar on the unimproved value of all rateable property in the borough of Featherston, such special rate not to be levied or collected, the annual loan charges to be met from rents received from the flat occupants.
It is further notified that a poll of the ratepayers is required to be taken if 5 percent or more of the ratepayers of the Borough of Featherston so demand, by writing under their hands, delivered or sent by post to the Borough Council and received at the office of the Featherston Borough Council, Fox Street, Featherston, not later than the day before the date fixed for the confirmation of the resolution to raise the loan.
