The Traffic (Otamatea County) Notice No. 2, 1970

PURSUANT to the Transport Act 1962, the Minister of Transport hereby gives the following notice.

NOTICE

  1. This notice may be cited as the Traffic (Otamatea County) Notice No. 2, 1970.

  2. The road specified in the First Schedule hereto is hereby declared to be a closely populated locality for the purposes of section 52 of the Transport Act 1962.

  3. The road specified in the Second Schedule hereto is hereby declared to be a 40-miles-an-hour speed limit area for the purposes of regulation 27A of the Traffic Regulations 1956*.

  4. The road specified in the Third Schedule hereto is hereby declared to be a limited speed zone area for the purposes of regulation 27 of the Traffic Regulations 1956*.

  5. The notice under section 36 of the Transport Act 1949 dated the 14th day of August 1959+, which relates to Kaiwaka Township in Otamatea County, is hereby revoked.

No. 1 State Highway (Awanui-Bluff) (from a point 4 chains measured north-westerly generally along the said State highway from the Kaiwaka-Mangawhai Road).

SECOND SCHEDULE

SITUATED within Otamatea County at Kaiwaka:

No. 1 State Highway (Awanui-Bluff) (from a point 20 chains measured southerly generally along the said State highway from Kaiwaka-Mangawhai Road to a point 10 chains measured southerly generally along the said State highway from Settlement Road).

THIRD SCHEDULE

SITUATED within Otamatea County at Kaiwaka:

Kaiwaka-Mangawhai Road (from the No. 1 State Highway (Awanui-Bluff) to a point 24 chains measured easterly generally along the said road from the said State highway). Dated at Wellington this 31st day of July 1970.

Crown Land Set Apart for Railway Purposes at Paekakariki

PURSUANT to the Public Works Act 1928, the Minister of Railways hereby declares the Crown land described in the Schedule hereto to be set apart for railway purposes on and after the 17th day of August 1970.

Cancellation of the Vesting in the Ashburton County Council and Revocation of the Reservation Over a Reserve

PURSUANT to the Reserves and Domains Act 1953, the Minister of Lands hereby cancels the vesting in the Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the County of Ashburton, and revokes the reservation for gravel over the land described in the Schedule hereto.

Change of Purpose of a Reserve

PURSUANT to the Reserves and Domains Act 1953, the Minister of Lands hereby changes the purpose of the reserve described in the Schedule hereto from a reserve for a resting place for travelling stock to a reserve for historic purposes.
