Import Control Exemption Notice (No. 23) 1970
Pursuant to regulation 16 of the Import Control Regulations 1964*, the Minister of Customs hereby gives notice as follows:

  1. (a) This notice may be cited as the Import Control Exemption Notice (No. 23) 1970.
    (b) This notice shall come into force on the day after the date of its notification in the New Zealand Gazette.
  2. Goods of the classes specified and for the purposes of the Customs Tariff falling within the Tariff items in the First Schedule hereto, imported from and being the produce or manufacture of any country, are hereby exempted from the requirement of a licence under the said regulations.
  3. The exemptions from the requirement of a licence under the said regulations in respect of the goods of the classes set forth in the Second Schedule hereto, included in the exempting notices shown in the Second Schedule, are hereby withdrawn.
    FIRST SCHEDULE
    EXEMPTIONS CREATED
    Classes of Goods
    Tariff Item Cinematograph film, exposed and developed, and advertising material for use therewith (excluding television advertising film Ex 37.07.00 and advertising material for use therewith) on declaration that it will be distributed only to the holders of an exhibitor's Ex 49.11.01 licence issued under Section 32 of the Cinematograph Films Act 1961 for exhibition to the public. Ex 49.11.22 Monofil of man-made fibre materials, not put up for retail sale, on declaration for use as fishing lines. Ex 39.01.32 Weatherseal (other than wholly of rubber). Ex 39.02.31 Hand tools, viz: striking faces for soft-faced hammers, hammers, planes, chisels, oil cans, and screwdrivers (other than screw- Ex 39.02.39 drivers, fixed handle, with straight blades, in blade lengths from 1¼" to 15", both inclusive, and with blade thicknesses Ex 51.02.19 (round or square shank) from ⅜" to ⁷⁄₁₆", both inclusive); sets comprising any of the foregoing; beekeepers' tools, cheese- Ex 51.02.29 makers' curd knives, and whaling tools. Ex 39.01.34 Ornaments of artificial plastic materials, on declaration for use in the manufacture of footwear. Ex 39.02.41 Textile fabrics and textile articles, of a kind commonly used in machinery or plant, approved for admission under Part II Ex 39.03.61 of the Customs Tariff. Ex 39.04.31 Parts of weed and scrub cutting mowers. Ex 39.06.51 Parts of other agricultural, horticultural, poultry-keeping and beekeeping machinery; parts of germination plant fitted with Ex 40.09.01 mechanical or thermal equipment. to Ex 40.09.09 Ammunition reloaders and parts thereof. Ex 62.05.19 Skis (other than water skis); ski sticks, and parts thereof. Ex 73.11.37 Date, sealing or numbering stamps, and the like, designed for operating, in the hand; hand-operated composing sticks and Ex 73.11.43 hand printing sets incorporating such composing sticks.
