Allocating Land Taken for a Railway to the Purposes of Street at Frankton

A PROCLAMATION
PURSUANT to section 226 of the Public Works Act 1928, I, the Right Hon. Sir Herbert Richard Churton Wild, the Administrator of the Government of New Zealand, hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto shall, upon the publication hereof in the Gazette, become street; and that the said street shall be under the control of the Hamilton City Council and shall be maintained by the said Council in like manner as other public highways are controlled and maintained by the said Council.

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land allocated to street:
A. R. P. Railway land being
0 2 31.8 Part Lots 4, 5, 6, 8, and 10 of Allotment 360, Te Rapa Parish, in Proclamation S. 113430. Situated in Block I Hamilton Survey District, City of Hamilton (S.O. 45174).
As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L.O. 24608 deposited in the office of the Minister of Railways at Wellington, and thereon coloured blue.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Administrator of the Government, and issued under the Seal of New Zealand, this 27th day of May 1970.

Situated in the City of Christchurch (S.O. 11347).
As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L.O. 24662 deposited in the office of the Minister of Railways at Wellington, and thereon coloured blue.

Appointing a Commission to Inquire Into New Zealand Shipping

ORDER IN COUNCIL
To all unto whom these presents shall come, and to:
RAYMOND DOUGLAS JAMIESON, Esquire, of Wellington, Stipendiary Magistrate;
CARLETON HUNTER PERKINS, Esquire, of Christchurch, Public Accountant; and
IAN DOUGLAS STEVENSON, Esquire, of Wellington, retired Civil Servant:
GREETING:
WHEREAS it is deemed expedient that inquiry should be made into New Zealand merchant shipping operations for the general purpose of recommending what changes are necessary and what things should be done to promote a soundly based, adequate, and efficient sea transport system, and matters incidental thereto:
Now, therefore, pursuant to the Commission of Inquiry Act 1908, I, the Right Hon. Sir Herbert Richard Churton Wild, the Administrator of the Government of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby appoint you, the said Raymond Douglas Jamieson, Carleton Hunter Perkins, and Ian Douglas Stevenson, to be a Commission to inquire into, report upon, and make recommendations on the following matters:
(a) manpower resources, recruitment, training, engagement, termination of employment, standards of performance and conduct, working conditions, discipline and the handling of personal complaints and grievances, security of employment;
(b) the organisation of the industry for industrial relations purposes and the improvement of industrial relations, including lines of communication and authority, procedures, and training in personnel management and industrial relations:
(c) the improvement of maritime operational efficiency; and, further, having regard primarily to (a), (b), and (c) above, to consider:
(d) the information available within New Zealand and evidence from New Zealand sources, with a view to recommending on New Zealand participation in sea transport;
(e) matters relating to legislation and administration affecting the efficiency of sea transport.
And with the like advice and consent I do further appoint you, the said Raymond Douglas Jamieson, Esquire, Stipendiary Magistrate, to be Chairman of the said Commission:
And for the better enabling you to carry these presents into effect you are hereby authorised and empowered to make and conduct any inquiry under these presents, in accordance with the Commissions of Inquiry Act 1908, at such times and places as you deem expedient, with power to adjourn from time to time and place to place as you think fit, and so that these presents shall continue in force and the inquiry may at any time and place be resumed although not regularly adjourned from time to time or place to place:
And you are hereby strictly charged and directed that you shall not at any time publish or otherwise disclose, save to me in pursuance of these presents or by my direction, the contents or purport of any report so made or to be made by you or any evidence or information obtained by you in exercise of the powers hereby conferred upon you except such evidence or information as is received in the course of a sitting open to the public:
And it is hereby declared that the powers hereby conferred shall be exercisable notwithstanding the absence at any time of any one of the members hereby appointed:
And it is hereby further declared that you have liberty to report your proceedings and recommendations under this Commission from time to time if you shall judge it expedient so to do:
And, using all due diligence, you are required to make an interim report to me in writing under your hands not later than the 31st day of July 1970 about your findings and opinions on the matters coming under subparagraphs (a) and (b) of the terms of reference and, in particular, to include specific recommendations on the matters set out in subparagraph (a).
Given in Executive Council under the hand of the Administrator of the Government, this 25th day of May 1970.
