Declaring Land Acquired for a Government Work and Not
Required for That Purpose to be Crown Land, Subject to

PURSUANT to section 35 of the Public Works Act 1928, the
Minister of Works hereby declares the land described in the
Schedule hereto to be Crown land for the purposes of the
Land Act 1948, subject to the building-line restriction con-
tained in W. 6598, as from the 18th day of May 1970.

Consent to the Generation of Electricity by the Otago Central
Electric Power Board by the Use of Water
PURSUANT to the Electricity Act 1968, the Minister of Elec-
tricity hereby consents to the generation of electricity by the
Otago Central Electric Power Board by the use of water,
subject to the following conditions.
CONDITIONS
- The conditions directed by the Water Power Regulations
1934 to be implied in every licence to use water for the purpose
of generating or storing electricity shall be deemed to be
conditions of this consent as if it were such a licence. - This consent is subject to compliance with the Water
Power Regulations 1934, the Electrical Supply Regulations
1967, the Electrical Wiring Regulations 1961, the Radio
Interference Regulations 1958, and all regulations hereafter
made in amendment or in substitution for any of those regula-
tions, as if in the case of the Water Power Regulations 1934
it were a licence under the Public Works Act 1928 to use
water for the purpose of generating electricity as well as a
consent under the Electricity Act 1968 to generate electricity
by the use of water. - The generation of electricity by the use of water, pursuant
to this licence, shall be carried out by means of the works
described in the Schedule hereto. - This consent shall, unless it is sooner lawfully determined,
continue in force until the 31st day of March 1986. - This consent confers no rights to water under the Water
and Soil Conservation Act 1967 or otherwise. - For the purpose of assessing the rental or annual sum
payable in respect of this consent, the maximum generating
capacity of the plant shall be assessed at 1,140 kW. - The station should be operated to supply the normal
electricity demand of the Otago Central Electric Power Board
and to conform reasonably to the pattern of the supply
authority's daily load curve.
SCHEDULE
GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF WORKS
THE water for the Teviot station extension shall be taken from
the tail race at the present power station on the Teviot River
at a point 26 chains upstream from the Teviot Bridge, Block 7,
Teviot S.D., and returned to the river at a point 6 chains
upstream from the Teviot Bridge, Block 2, Teviot S.D., and
the water shall be used for the generating of electricity by
means of the following works:
(a) Head works consisting of an inlet gate, discharge
chamber, and water-level control device located at
upper power station and M.O.W. irrigation water
intake.
(b) A pipeline 1,520 ft in length, leading from the said
discharge chamber to the lower powerhouse.
(c) A powerhouse with a turbine and all necessary equip-
ment for generating electricity to have a maximum
capacity of 1,140 kW.
All as shown on the plans marked N.Z.E.D. 802 deposited
in the office of the New Zealand Electricity Department at
Wellington.
