Consenting to Raising of Loans by Certain Local Authorities
PURSUANT to section 3 of the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956 (as amended by section 3 (1) of the Local Authorities Loans Amendment Act 1967), the undersigned Assistant Secretary to the Treasury, acting under powers delegated to the Secretary to the Treasury by the Minister of Finance, hereby consents to the borrowing by the local authorities mentioned in the Schedule hereto of the whole or any part of the respective amounts specified in that Schedule.

Approval of Revolving Amber Lights for Certain Vehicles
PURSUANT to regulation 39 of the Traffic Regulations 1956*, the Secretary for Transport hereby approves the fitting of one revolving amber light on any motor vehicle used as an animal ambulance, provided:
- The vehicle is painted a conspicuous colour and is clearly marked as being an animal ambulance.
- The light shall not be used while the vehicle is moving.
- Suitable and adequate warning signs shall be displayed whilst the light is used.
- The light shall be used only when it is essential for the vehicle to be parked in a position which obstructs the path of moving traffic.

The Road Classification (Piako County) Notice No. 1, 1970
PURSUANT to regulation 3 of the Heavy Motor Vehicle Regulations 1969*, the Secretary for Transport hereby gives the following notice.
NOTICE
- This notice may be cited as the Road Classification (Piako County) Notice No. 1, 1970.
- The Piako County Council’s proposed classification of the roads as set out in the Schedule hereto is hereby approved.
- So much of the notice dated the 26th day of January 1959† as relates to the classification of the roads described in the Schedule hereto is hereby revoked.

The Standards Act 1965—Draft Amendment to New Zealand Standard Specification
PURSUANT to subsection (3) of section 23 of the Standards Act 1965, notice is hereby given that the following draft amendment is being circulated:

D 145 Draft amendment to NZS 1214 : 1969 Protective helmets for racing motor cyclists.
NOTE—This amendment, when issued, will provide, in the form of an appendix, a check list to assist racing stewards when inspecting motor cyclists’ helmets before a race.
All persons who may be affected by this amendment and who desire to comment thereon may, on application, obtain copies on loan from the Standards Association of New Zealand, New Zealand Display Centre Building, Sturdee Street (or Private Bag), Wellington.
The closing date for the receipt of comment is 18 May 1970.
