BOUNDARIES OF THE PROPOSED LOWER WAITAKI IRRIGATION DISTRICT

ALL that area in the Otago Land District, Waitaki County, containing 47,300 acres, more or less, bounded by a line commencing at a point on the right bank of the Waitaki River in line with the western boundary of Section 31, Maerewhenua Settlement, situated in Block III, Awamoko Survey District, and proceeding generally south-easterly along that bank to the western boundary of Section 12, Block VIII, Papakaio Survey District; thence southerly along that boundary and its production to the northern boundary of Section 13, Block VIII, aforesaid; thence easterly along that boundary to the sea coast; thence generally south-westerly along the sea coast to a point in line with the north-eastern side of Horace Road in Block I, Oamaru Survey District; thence north-westerly to and along the north-eastern side of Horace Road to the south-eastern boundary of the South Island Main Trunk Railway; thence north-easterly along the south-eastern side of that railway to to a point in line with the south-western boundary of Section 136, Block II, Papakaio Survey District; thence north-westerly to and along that boundary, across Section 1505R, Block II, aforesaid, and again along that boundary to the south-eastern side of State Highway No. 1; thence north-easterly along the south-eastern side of that highway and generally north-westerly along the generally north-eastern side of State Highway No. 83 to a point in line with the south-eastern boundary of Section 104, Block I, Papakaio Survey District; thence south-westerly to and along that boundary and the south-eastern boundaries of Sections 105 and 106, Block I, aforesaid, to the southernmost corner of the last-mentioned section; thence north-westerly along the south-western boundaries of Sections 106, 105, and 104, aforesaid, to the south-eastern boundary of Section 28, Block I, aforesaid; thence south-westerly along the south-eastern boundary of Section 28, aforesaid, and north-westerly along the south-western boundaries of Sections 28 and 29, Block I, aforesaid, to the south-eastern side of Barrie Road; thence north-easterly along that side of Barrie Road to a point in line with the northern boundary of Section 33, Block I, aforesaid; thence westerly to and along the northern boundaries of Sections 33, 34, and 35, Block I, aforesaid, and northerly along the western boundary of Section 11, Block I, aforesaid, to its north-western corner; thence northerly along a right line to the south-western corner of Section 104, Block III, Papakaio Survey District; thence north-easterly along the south-eastern side of Horse Gully Road to a point in line with the south-eastern boundary of Lot 5, D.P. 220; thence south-westerly to and along that boundary and north-westerly along the south-western boundary of that Lot 5 and its production to the right bank of the Oamaru Borough water race; thence generally north-westerly along that bank to the south-eastern boundary of the Town of Peebles; thence north-easterly along that boundary and its production to the north-eastern side of State Highway No. 83; thence north-westerly along the north-eastern side of that highway to a point in line with the north-western boundary of the Town of Peebles; thence south-westerly to and along that boundary to the right bank of the Oamaru Borough water race; thence generally north-westerly along that bank to the south-eastern boundary of the Town of Georgetown; thence north-easterly along that boundary and its production to the north-eastern side of State Highway No. 83; thence north-westerly along the north-eastern side of that highway to the westernmost corner of Section 71, Maerewhenua Settlement; thence north-easterly along the north-western boundary of Section 71, aforesaid, and its production to the north-eastern boundary of the Kurow Branch Railway; thence north-westerly along the north-eastern boundary of that railway to and northerly along the western boundary of Section 61, Maerewhenua Settlement, to its northernmost corner; thence generally north-westerly to and along the north-eastern boundaries of Sections 53 and 32, Maerewhenua Settlement, and north-westerly to and along the north-eastern boundary of Section 31, Maerewhenua Settlement, to its northernmost corner; thence northerly along the production of the western boundary of Section 31, aforesaid, to the point of commencement. As the same is more particularly shown, edged red, on a plan deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and marked M.O.W. 15722.

THE RIGHT HON. KEITH HOLYOAKE, C.H., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to section 11 of the Housing Act 1955, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby orders and declares that the access ways described in the Schedule hereto shall, on and after the date of this Order in Council, vest in the Mayor, Councillors, and Citizens of the City of Dunedin and be under the control and management of the Dunedin City Council.
