A PROCLAMATION
PURSUANT to the Public Works Act 1928, I, Sir Arthur Espie Porritt, Baronet, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby proclaim and declare that the portions of road described in the Schedule hereto are hereby taken for the Midland Railway.

CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT
ALL those pieces of road situated in Block XIII, Oxford Survey District, Canterbury R.D., described as follows:
A. R. P. Adjoining or passing through
0 1 12.8} Parts road; coloured green, edged green, on plan
0 0 30.9} M.O.W. 23658 (S.O. 10916).
0 0 26 Part road; coloured green, edged green, on plan
M.O.W. 23656 (S.O. 10914).
As the same are more particularly delineated on the plans marked and coloured as above-mentioned, and deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, and issued under the Seal of New Zealand, this 27th day of March 1970.

PURSUANT to the Public Works Act 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby consents to the land described in the Schedule hereto being taken for a teacher’s residence.

PURSUANT to section 421 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, I, Sir Arthur Espie Porritt, Baronet, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby declare the land described in the First and Second Schedules hereto, and comprised in a roadway laid out by the Maori Land Court by an order dated the 17th day of June 1968, to be road.

The Lower Waitaki Irrigation District Order 1970

THE RIGHT HON. KEITH HOLYOAKE, C.H., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to section 274 of the Public Works Act 1928 and to Part I of the Public Works Amendment Act 1960, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.
ORDER

This order may be cited as the Lower Waitaki Irrigation District Order 1970.

The Minister of Works is hereby authorised to construct, maintain, and control the water supply works described in the First Schedule hereto, to serve the district described in the Second Schedule hereto.

The area of land described in the Second Schedule is hereby constituted as an irrigation district, to be known as the Lower Waitaki Irrigation District (herein referred to as “the district”).

It is hereby declared that the water quota shall be 24 in. over the land in the district commanded by supply points and not exempted pursuant to section 13 of the Public Works Amendment Act 1960.

It is hereby declared that the irrigation charge which will be payable for half the water quota shall be $1.84 per acre of land in the district commanded by supply points and not exempted as aforesaid, reducible over the first nine irrigation seasons of supply to the charges set out in the Third Schedule hereto.

It is hereby declared that the charge which will be payable for such water as may be supplied in excess of half the water quota but not in excess of the total water quota shall be at the rate of $0.92 per acre-foot.

WATER SUPPLY WORKS
THE Lower Waitaki Irrigation Works (for the irrigation of the district) by means of water drawn from the Waitaki River and from any dam or dams which are or may be constructed or acquired on the said river or any other river or stream, such water being conveyed into the district by a race or races constructed or acquired by the Minister of Works, or by any
