Application of Part IV of the Trustee Companies Act 1967

Pursuant to section 44 of the Trustee Companies Act 1967,
the Minister of Justice hereby applies Part IV of the said Act to
The Perpetual Trustees Estate and Agency Co. of New
Zealand (Ltd.).

Tariff and Development Board Notice No. 164—Public Inquiry
-New Zealand - Australia Free Trade Agreement-
Elimination of Margins-Certain Wines and Spirits (ex Tariff
Headings 22.05, 22.06, and 22.09)

1.Tariff and Development Board Notice No. 137 (New
Zealand Gazette of Thursday, 30 October 1969) gave notice
of the Board’s intention to recommend, if no representations
were received to the contrary, in respect of the goods listed in
the Schedule to that notice, reduction of the rates of duty
applicable to imports of Australian origin to the levels of the
British Preferential Tariff or such lower rates as were indicated
in the notes to the Schedule.

  1. Objections, supported by statements of evidence, have been
    lodged in respect of the goods set out in the following
    Schedule, and the Board will, in accordance with its normal
    procedures, conduct a public inquiry in the Boardroom, First
    Floor, Law Society Building, 26 Waring Taylor Street,
    Wellington, commencing at 10.30 a.m., Tuesday, 9 June 1970.

  2. The purpose of the inquiry will be to hear evidence
    (including any further evidence submitted pursuant to this
    notice) on the proposed action as it affects these goods. The
    Board will also consider evidence placed before it regarding
    any of the rates of duty applicable to these goods and import
    licensing as it affects them.

  3. Twelve copies of a typewritten statement of the evidence,
    to be presented under oath at the public inquiry by the person
    tendering it, should reach the Board’s office no later than
    Friday, 22 May 1970. In preparing this evidence the “Notes
    for Guidance of Witnesses”, prepared by the Board, may be
    of assistance. Copies of these notes may be obtained from
    the Board’s office.

The Standards Act 1965—Draft New Zealand Standard Specifications

Pursuant to subsection (3) of section 23 of the Standards Act
1965, notice is hereby given that the draft New Zealand
standard specifications listed in the Schedule hereto are being
circulated. All persons who may be affected by these specifications
and who desire to comment thereon may, on application,
obtain copies on loan from the Standards Association of New
Zealand, Private Bag, Wellington.

The closing dates for the receipt of comment are shown in
the third column of the said Schedule.

Pursuant to subsection (3) of section 23 of the Standards Act
1965, notice is hereby given that the following draft amendment
is being circulated:

Chapter 6 : — Construction requirements for buildings
not requiring specific design-Division 6.1 : 1964 Timber.
NOTE—This amendment amends a typographical error in
clause 6.1.36.4, and clarifies the intention of clauses 6.1.24.3
and 6.1.41.4, which relate to dwang spacings for vertical wallboards.

All persons who may be affected by this amendment and
who desire to comment thereon may, on application, obtain
copies on loan from the Standards Association of New Zealand, New Zealand Display Centre Building, Sturdee Street (or Private Bag), Wellington.
