State Forest Land Set Apart as a Forest Sanctuary

ARTHUR PORRITT, Governor-General

A PROCLAMATION

PURSUANT to section 20 of the Forests Act 1949, I, Sir Arthur Espie Porritt, Baronet, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby set apart the area of permanent State forest land described in the Schedule hereto as a forest sanctuary.

SCHEDULE

WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT—WELLINGTON CONSERVANCY—
WAIRARAPA SOUTH COUNTY

Rocky Hills Forest Sanctuary

SECTION 291, Pahaoa District, situated in Blocks X and XI, Wainuioru Survey District: area, 997 acres 1 rood 15 perches, more or less (S.O. Plan 11300); being all the land gazetted as permanent State forest, 1901, p. 1245.

As shown on plan N. 162/4 deposited in the Head Office of the New Zealand Forest Service at Wellington, and thereon edged red.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, and issued under the Seal of New Zealand, this 3rd day of March 1970.

PURSUANT to section 149 of the Public Works Act 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby consents to the Otorohanga County Council stopping the pieces of road described in the Schedule hereto.

PURSUANT to the Public Works Act 1928 and the Town and Country Planning Act 1953, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby consents to the land described in the Schedule hereto being taken as being necessary for the proper development of the said land, in accordance with the operative district scheme of the Lower Hutt City Council for uses permitted in a commercial “B” zone under the code of ordinances.

SCHEDULE

WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT

ALL that piece of land containing 33.4 perches situated in the City of Lower Hutt, Wellington R.D., and being Lot 23 of Block III on D.P. 1306. All certificate of title No. E. 1/790, Wellington Land Registry.

PURSUANT to the Soil Conservation and Rivers Control Act 1941, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby declares that the area described in the Schedule hereto shall be included in the Wairarapa Catchment District and excluded from the Manawatu Catchment District.
