Reservation of Land and Vesting in the Soil Conservation and Rivers Control Council

Authorisation of the Exchange of Part of a Reserve for Other Land

Cancellation of Registered Systems of Marking Animals (Notice No. Ag. 10457)

PURSUANT to section 90 of the Animals Act 1967 and to a delegation under the Department of Agriculture Act 1953 for the purpose of the said section, notice is hereby given that, with effect from the 31st day of December 1968, the systems of marking registered with the Director-General of Agriculture on the 17th day of March 1959 by the incorporated societies set out in the Schedule hereto are hereby cancelled.

Registration of System of Marking Animals (Notice No. Ag. 10458)

PURSUANT to section 90 of the Animals Act 1967 and to a delegation under the Department of Agriculture Act 1953 for the purposes of the said section, notice is hereby given that, with effect from the 1st day of January 1969, the New Zealand Dairy Board has registered with the Director-General of Agriculture the system of marking described in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE

DESCRIPTION OF MARKING SYSTEM

1. There shall be placed in the left ear of the animal, by means of a tattoo, numerals representing the permanent herd code number of the particular herd in which the animal was identified. Where any such code number exceeds 9999 every unit of 1,000 in respect of such number shall be denoted by a letter preceding the other three numerals, “A000” denoting 10,000, “B000” denoting 11,000, and so on.

2. There shall be placed in the right ear of the animal a letter representing the year of birth of the animal and numerals indicating the order in which the calves are identified within the herd.
