make any objections to the above proposals to stop the said pieces of road must set forth their objections, in writing, and send the same to the County Clerk at the office of the Franklin County Council, Roulston Street, Pukekohe, within 40 days from the 31st day of May 1969, being the day of the first publication of this notice. If any objection is made to the execution of the said public works or the taking of such lands, as aforesaid, a public hearing of the objection will be held, unless the objector otherwise requires, and each objector will be advised of the time and place of the hearing. If any objections are received to the stopping of the said pieces of road, as aforesaid, a public notice shall be published calling a meeting of the ratepayers of the district, such meeting to be held at a time and place to be specified in the said notice, the time so specified being not earlier than 14 days after the date of the publication of the notice, pursuant to the said section 148 of the Public Works Act 1928.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND

IN the matter of the Soil Conservation and Rivers Control Act 1941, and in the matter of the Public Works Act 1928, notice is hereby given that the Nelson Catchment Board proposes, under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts, to execute a certain public work, namely, river control work on the Motueka River; and, for the purposes of such public work, the lands described in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken. And notice is hereby further given that a plan of the lands so required to be taken is deposited in the public office of the Board situate at No. 290 Trafalgar Street, Nelson, and is open for inspection, without fee, by all persons during ordinary office hours. All persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of such lands, who have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or the taking of the said lands, must state their objections, in writing, and send the same, within 40 days from the first publication of this notice, to the Secretary of the Board at its offices, No. 290 Trafalgar Street, Nelson.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATES

Transport (Redemption) Loan No. 8, 1969, $233,400

PURSUANT to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956 and the Auckland Regional Authority Act 1963, the Auckland Regional Authority has resolved to the following effect:

That, for the purposes of providing the annual charges on a loan of $233,400 authorised to be raised by the Auckland Regional Authority under the above-mentioned Acts for redeeming the unpaid balance of the Auckland Transport Board Modernisation and Development (Stage 3) Loan 1954, $3,320,000—Issue of $400,000 raised by the former Auckland Transport Board in connection with its passenger transport undertaking, which liabilities were taken over by the Auckland Regional Authority in terms of section 45 of the Auckland Regional Authority Act 1963, the Auckland Regional Authority hereby makes a special rate of the several amounts in the dollar set out in the fourth column of the Schedule hereto on the rateable values set against such amounts respectively in the third column of such Schedule of all rateable property of the local authorities listed in the first column of such Schedule and set out against such amounts and rateable values respectively; and that the special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of the loan, which shall, at the lender’s option, be for 6-monthly periods commencing on 28 May 1969 and ending on 28 May 1978, or until the loan is fully paid off.
