Reservation of Land and Vesting in the Kawerau Borough Council

Pursuant to the Land Act 1948, the Minister of Lands hereby sets apart the land described in the Schedule hereto as a reserve for recreation purposes; and, further, pursuant to the Reserves and Domains Act 1953, vests the said reserve in the Mayor, Councillors, and Citizens of the Borough of Kawerau, in trust, for that purpose.

SOUTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT—KAWERAU BOROUGH
AND WHAKATANE COUNTY

ALLOTMENT 505, Matata Parish, situated in Block XIII, Rangitaiki Upper Survey District: area, 37 acres 3 roods 22 perches, more or less. (S.O. Plan 44213.)

Boundaries of the Borough of Taupo, of the County of Taupo, and of Tauhara Riding of the County of Taupo Defined

Pursuant to section 26 of the Municipal Corporations Act 1954 and section 16 of the Counties Act 1956, the Secretary for Internal Affairs hereby defines, as set out in the Schedule hereto, the boundaries of the Borough of Taupo, the County of Taupo, and the Tauhara Riding of the County of Taupo; the boundaries having previously been altered by Order in Council made on 26 August 1968, published in Gazette, 29 August 1968, No. 54, p. 1457.

SCHEDULE

BOUNDARIES OF BOROUGH OF TAUP0

All that area in the South Auckland Land District containing 3,572 acres, more or less, bounded by a line commencing on the right bank of the Waikato River, in the middle of the Otumuheke Stream, in Block II, Tauhara Survey District, and proceeding easterly up the middle of that stream to the north-western boundary of part Section 4, Block II, aforesaid; thence north-easterly, easterly, and southerly along the north-western, northern, and eastern boundaries of that section to the northern side of Aerodrome Road; thence along a right line to and again along the eastern boundary of part Section 4, aforesaid, to the northern boundary of Section 308, Block II, aforesaid; thence south-easterly along the northern and north-western boundaries of that section to the northern side of Tauhara Road; thence south-easterly along a right line to the road angle opposite the last-mentioned boundary; thence southerly generally along the south-eastern side of Tauhara Road and the eastern side of Miro Street to a right line bearing 323° 26′ 20″ from peg XXIA on S.O. Plan 40608; thence south-easterly along that right line to peg XXIA, aforesaid, and southerly generally along a series of right lines crossing part Tauhara Middle No. 1, bearing 186° 22′ 20″, 281.44 links; 161° 21′, 714.52 links; 115° 57′, 333.86 links; and 193° 33′ 10″, 504.0 links to the eastern corner of Section 117, Block II, Tauhara Survey District; thence southerly along another right line to the road angle on the northern side of Paetiki Road opposite the easternmost corner of part Section 22, Block II, aforesaid; thence along a right line to that easternmost corner; thence along the south-eastern boundary of part Section 22, aforesaid, and the eastern boundary of Lot 1, D.P. S. 5096, to the northern boundary of a portion of closed road, shown on S.O. Plan 42902; thence easterly along that boundary and its production for a distance of 224.2 links; thence southerly along a right line to the easternmost corner of Section 51, Block VI, Tauhara Survey District; thence south-westerly generally along the south-eastern and south-western boundaries of that section, the eastern end of the Old Taupo-Napier Road, the south-eastern boundaries of Lot 89, D.P. 33323, and part Section 1, Block VI, aforesaid, and the last-mentioned boundary produced to a point in line with the north-eastern boundary of Section 34, Block VI, aforesaid; thence north-westerly to and along that boundary and its production to the eastern shore of Lake Taupo; thence north-easterly generally along that shore and the right bank of the Waikato River to a point in line with the generally north-eastern boundary of part Lot 1, D.P. 8698; thence north-westerly generally to and along that boundary, the south-western side of Short Street, the north-western end of Short Street, the north-eastern boundaries of part Nukuhau Block, shown on D.P. 8698, and part Lot 5, D.P. 8698, and the last-mentioned boundary produced to the north-western side of Acacia Bay Road; thence north-easterly along that roadside to the south-western boundary of Lot 1, D.P. S. 10906; thence north-westerly along that boundary and the south-western boundary of Taupo Central Block to the southern boundary of Rangatira 8A 6A; thence easterly along that boundary to the western side of Kaihua Road; thence along a right line to and along the southern boundary of Section 60, Block II, Tauhara Survey District, and its production to the eastern side of No. 1 State Highway; thence southerly along that eastern side to the right bank of the Waikato River; thence north-easterly generally along that right bank to the point of commencement.

BOUNDARIES OF COUNTY OF TAUP0

All that area in the South Auckland, Hawke’s Bay, and Wellington Land Districts bounded by a line commencing at a point in Block XVI, Wharepapa Survey District, being the junction of the middle line of the Waikato River with the production of the middle line of the Waipapa Stream, and proceeding easterly generally up the middle of the Waikato River to a point in line with the middle of the Paetataromoa Stream situated in Block IX, Takapau Survey District; thence southerly generally to and up the middle of that stream to a point in line with the south-western boundary of part Lot 3, D.P. S. 7273; thence south-easterly to and along that boundary to its southernmost point; thence north-easterly along the south-eastern boundaries of part Lot 3, aforesaid, Lot 2, D.P. S. 7273, Lot 2, D.P. S. 7274, Lot 2, D.P. S. 7085, Lots 5 and 4, D.P. S. 4985, Lots 5, 4, and 3, D.P. 19572, Lots 2 and 1, D.P. 30838, Sections 6, 5, and 4, Block III, Takapau Survey District, and Lot 1, D.P. 30839, to the easternmost corner of the last-mentioned lot; thence south-easterly along the south-western boundary of Paeroa East 3A, as shown on M.L. 4440, to the western boundary of the land shown on D.P. 20113; thence northerly along that boundary to its north-western corner; thence westerly along the northern boundaries of Sections 8 and 7, Block XV, Paeroa Survey District, to the south-eastern boundary of Section 29, Block XV, aforesaid; thence north-easterly along that boundary and the eastern boundary of Section 20, Block XI, Paeroa Survey District, to a right line between Trig. Station 31, Paeroa, in Block V, Paeroa Survey District, and Trig. Station 2120, Tawhiwhau, in Block XIV, Galatea Survey District; thence south-easterly along that right line to the production of a right line between Trig. Station 18, Maungawhakamana, in Block III, Ruawahia Survey District, and Trig. Station 38, Ahiwhakamura, in Block X, Kaingaroa Survey District; thence south-easterly along a right line to Trig. Station 78A, Pekepeke, in Block III, Wheao Survey District; thence southerly along a right line to Trig. Station 76, Taupiri, in Block XII, Wheao Survey District, along another right line to Trig. Station F, Tiritiri, in Block III, Heruiwi Survey District, and another right line to Trig. Station B, Pukeroa, in Block XI, Heruiwi Survey District; thence south-easterly along a right line to Trig. Station Te Taumutu in Block XVI, Heruiwi Survey District, and along another right line to a point being the intersection of the production of a right line between the northernmost point on the shore of Lake Waikaremoana and a point 180 chains due north of Trig. Station C. 2, Maungataniwha, in Block XIV, Tuwatawata Survey District, and a right line between Trig. Station 2120, Tawhiwhau, aforesaid, and Trig. Station 69, Tataraakina, in Block VIII, Tarawera Survey District (Hawke’s Bay Land District); thence south-easterly along a right line between that last-mentioned point and a point in the middle of the Te Hoe River, in line with the south-western boundary of Heruiwi 4E, to the south-eastern watershed of the Rangitaiki and Whakatane Rivers situated in Block XIII, Tuwatawata Survey District; thence south-westerly generally along that watershed to the northernmost corner of Pohokura No. 1 in Block IV, Runanga Survey District; thence southerly and easterly along the western and southern boundaries of Pohokura No. 1 to the western boundary of Tataraakina No. 11; thence southerly generally along that last-mentioned boundary and its production to the middle of the Mohaka River; thence up the middle of the Mohaka River to a point in line with the middle of the Waipunga River in Block XIII, Waitara Survey District; thence to and up the middle of the Waipunga River to a point in line with the southern side of the roadway in Tarawera No. 5A; thence north-westerly generally to and along that side of the said roadway and its production to the western side of No. 5 State Highway; thence south-westerly generally along that roadside to and along the western side of Kowaro Roadway to the north-eastern boundary of Tarawera No. 8; thence north-westerly generally along that boundary and north-westerly, south-westerly, and south-easterly along the north-eastern and north-western boundaries of Tarawera 10A, the northern end of Omarowa Roadway, and the north-western and south-western boundaries of Tarawera 10A to a point in line with the middle of a tributary of the Toropapa Stream; thence south-westerly to and up the middle of that
