Porritt, Baronet, the Governor-General of New Zealand,
hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the
Schedule hereto is hereby taken for soil conservation and
river control purposes; and I also declare that this proclamation shall take effect on and after the 14th day of October
1968.

A PROCLAMATION
PURSUANT to section 226 of the Public Works Act 1928, I,
Sir Arthur Espie Porritt, Baronet, the Governor-General of
New Zealand, hereby proclaim and declare that the land
described in the Schedule hereto (and which was taken for
the East Coast Main Trunk Railway and is not required
for such purpose) shall, upon the publication hereof in the
Gazette, become road, and that such road shall be under the
control of the National Roads Board and shall be maintained
by the said Board in like manner as other public highways
are controlled and maintained by the said Board.

241, Marlborough Land Registry, is hereby taken for the
development of water power (submarine cable terminal
station).
