Taupo Altered

ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government House at Wellington this 26th day of
August 1968
Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
Pursuant to the Local Government Commission Act 1967,
His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with
the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes
the following order.

ORDER

  1. This order shall come into force on 1 September 1968.
  2. The area described in the Schedule hereto shall be
    excluded from the County of Taupo and included in the
    Borough of Taupo.
  3. The alteration of the boundaries of the said county and
    the said borough hereinbefore made shall be deemed to have
    been effected under the Municipal Corporations Act 1954.

SCHEDULE
All that area in the South Auckland Land District, Taupo
County, containing 1 acre 3 roods 31.3 perches, more or less,
and being part Section 69, part Lot 18, D.P. S. 9885, being
part Tauhara Middle No. 1 Block, and portion of Miro
Street adjoining part Lot 18, D.P. S. 9885, all situated in
Block II, Tauhara Survey District.

Coroner Appointed

Pursuant to section 2 of the Coroners’ Act 1951, His Ex-
cellency the Governor-General has been pleased to appoint
Sydney Hamilton Burdett
of Ruatoria, of his appointment as a Coroner for New Zealand.

Additional Judge for Court of Appeal Appointed

Pursuant to section 58 of the Judicature Act 1908, His
Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to appoint
the Honourable Arthur Owen Woodhouse
as an additional Judge of the Court of Appeal as from the
1st day of September 1968, and, consequent upon such
appointment, has revoked the appointment of the Honourable
Sir George Innes McGregor as an additional Judge of the
Court of Appeal as from that date.

Appointment of Member of the Indecent Publications Tribunal

Pursuant to section 3 of the Indecent Publications Act 1963,
His Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to
appoint
Professor Donald Francis MacKenzie
of Wellington, to be a member of the Indecent Publications
Tribunal in place of Professor Ian Alistair Gordon who has
resigned from membership, for the residue of the term for
which the latter was appointed, namely, until the 31st day of
December 1971.

Stipendiary Magistrate Appointed

Pursuant to section 5 of the Magistrates’ Courts Act 1947,
His Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to
appoint
Hector Young Gilliland, Esq.
of Palmerston North, barrister and solicitor, to be a
Stipendiary Magistrate to exercise criminal and civil
jurisdiction within New Zealand.

Court established at Auckland.

Incorporated to Control and Manage a Reserve

Pursuant to the Reserves and Domains Act 1953, the Minister
of Lands hereby appoints the Hamilton Free Kindergarten
Association Incorporated to control and manage the reserve
described in the Schedule hereto, subject to the provisions
of the said Act, as a reserve for education (pre-school) pur-
poses.
