At the Government House at Wellington this 15th day of July

Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
Pursuant to the Public Works Act 1928, His Excellency the
Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent
of the Executive Council, hereby:
(a) Declares the piece of road described in the Schedule
hereto to be a Government road, and
(b) Stops the said road.

SCHEDULE

SOUTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT
All that piece of road containing 1 rood 15 perches situated
in Block VII, Otanake Survey District, formerly being part
Pukenui 1B 1 Block; as the same is more particularly
delineated on the plan marked M.O.W. 348 (S.O. 39948)
deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington,
and thereon coloured yellow, edged yellow.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
Pursuant to section 3 of the Public Works Amendment Act
1947, His Excellency the Governor-General, at the request of
the National Roads Board, and acting by and with the advice
and consent of the Executive Council, hereby orders and
declares that the highway described in the Schedule hereto
shall, on and after the date of this Order in Council, be a
motorway.

SCHEDULE

WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT
All that portion of highway in Block XII, Belmont Survey
District, Hutt County, reclaimed land and the City of Wel-
lington, being part of the Ngauranga-Basin Reserve Motor-
way (Ngauranga-Aotea Quay section) commencing at its
junction north of Ngauranga in Block XII, Belmont Survey
District, with No. 2 Pokeno-Wellington State Highway, and
proceeding thence in a south-western direction through or over
Block XII, Belmont Survey District, reclaimed land, and the
City of Wellington, to its junction with No. 1 Awanui-Bluff
State Highway at Aotea Quay in the City of Wellington; as
the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked
M.O.W. 14482 deposited in the office of the Minister of Works
at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.

Setting Apart Maori Freehold Land as a Maori Reservation

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
Pursuant to section 439 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, His
Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the
advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby sets
apart the Maori freehold land described in the Schedule
hereto as a Maori reservation, for the purpose of a church
site for the common use and benefit of the Maori people
generally.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
Pursuant to the Public Works Act 1928, His Excellency the
Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent
of the Executive Council, hereby amends the Order in Council
specified in the Schedule hereto, authorising the Riccarton
Borough Council to erect electric lines in the Borough of
Riccarton and Portions of the Christchurch City and Waimairi
County, by extending the duration of the said Order in
Council until the 28th day of November 1968.

Resignation of Member of Royal Commission to Inquire
Into and Report Upon Salary and Wage Fixing Procedures
in the State Services
ELIZABETH THE SECOND, by the Grace of God of the United
Kingdom, New Zealand, and Her Other Realms and Territories
Queen, Head of the Commonwealth, Defender of the Faith:
To Our Trusty and Well-beloved the Honourable Sir
Thaddeus Pearcey McCarthy, a Judge of the Court of Appeal
of New Zealand, Sir Clifford Ulric Plimmer, K.B.E., of Welling-
ton, Company Director, John Turnbull, O.B.E., of Wellington,
Secretary, Harry Parsonage, I.S.O., of Wellington, Retired
Secretary of Labour, and Ralph Herbert Brookes, of Welling-
ton, University Professor:

GREETING:

WHEREAS, by our Commission issued on the 26th day of
February 1968, We constituted and appointed you the said
the Honourable Sir Thaddeus Pearcey McCarthy, Sir Clifford
Ulric Plimmer, John Turnbull, and Ralph Herbert Brookes,
and also you the said Harry Parsonage, to be a Commission
to receive representations upon, investigate, and report upon
the salary and wage fixing procedures used in the State
Services of New Zealand:
And whereas you the said Harry Parsonage have requested
that for health reasons you be relieved from your duties as a
member of the said Commission:
Now, Know Ye, that We do hereby relieve you the said
Harry Parsonage from those duties; and that We, reposing
trust and confidence in the integrity, knowledge, and ability
of you the said the Honourable Sir Thaddeus Pearcey
McCarthy, Sir Clifford Ulric Plimmer, John Turnbull, and
Ralph Herbert Brookes, do hereby confirm Our Commission
issued on the 26th day of February 1968 save as modified
by these presents:
And it is hereby declared that all acts and things done
and decisions made by the said Commission or any of its
members, in the exercise of its powers, before the issuing
of these presents, shall be deemed to have been made and
done by the said Commission as reconstituted by these
presents:
And lastly, it is hereby declared that these presents are
issued under the authority of the Letters Patent of His late
Majesty King George the Fifth, dated the 11th day of May
1917, and under the authority of and subject to the provisions
of the Commissions of Inquiry Act 1908, and with the advice
and consent of the Executive Council of New Zealand.
In witness whereof We have caused this Our Commission
to be issued and the Seal of New Zealand to be hereunto
affixed at Wellington this 29th day of July 1968.
Witness Our Right Trusty and Well-beloved Cousin, Sir
Arthur Espie Porritt, Baronet, Knight Grand Cross of
Our Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and
