Declaring the Te Kuiti and Aria Pest Destruction Districts to be United to Form the Waitomo Pest Destruction District (Notice No. Ag. 10214)

THE RIGHT Hon. KEITH HOLYOAKE, C.H., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL PURSUANT to the Agricultural Pests Destruction Act 1967, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following declaration.
DECLARATION

(1) This declaration may be cited as the Te Kuiti and Aria Pest Destruction District Declaration 1968. (2) This declaration shall come into force on the day after the date of its notification in the Gazette.

The Te Kuiti Pest Destruction District, which was constituted by Order in Council on the 28th day of January 1942* and the Aria Pest Destruction District, which was constituted by Order in Council on the 31st day of August 1949t, are hereby united to form one district having the name of the Waitomo Pest Destruction District, the boundaries of which shall be those specified in the Schedule hereto, and it is hereby further declared that the basis on which the Pest Destruction Board for the said District shall first levy its general rate shall be the acreage of the land occupied by the ratepayer.
SCHEDULE BOUNDARIES OF THE WAITOMO PEST DESTRUCTION DISTRICT ALL that area in the South Auckland and Taranaki Land Districts, Waitomo and Otorohanga Counties and Te Kuiti Borough, containing 822,500 acres, more or less, bounded by a line commencing at Urawitiki Point on the southern entrance to the Kawhia Harbour in Block IX, Kawhia North Survey District, and proceeding generally south-easterly along the southern shores of the Kawhia Harbour and the southern boundary of the Otorohanga County as described in Gazette, 1956, page 422, to and down the middle of the Mangititi Stream, to and up the middle of the Moakuraua Stream, to and again along the said county boundary to its intersection with the middle of Tapuae Road in Block VI, Orahiri Survey District; thence south-easterly generally along the middle of that road, the middle of Caves-Lemon Point Road, the middle of Hangitiki-Caves Road and the middle of Fullerton Road to a point in line with the northern boundary of Section 9, Block XIV, Orahiri Survey District; thence easterly to and along that northern boundary and the northern boundaries of Sections 10 and 11 of Block XIV aforesaid, crossing and recrossing the intervening Fullerton Road by right lines, to and along the northern and eastern boundaries of Section 14, Block XV, Orahiri Survey District; thence generally southerly along a right line bearing 92Β° 09' distant 1673.3 links, to and along another right line bearing 100Β° 43' distant 50 links, to and up the middle of the Mangapu Stream to a point in line with the south-western boundary of Kinohaku East 1F 29B 1;
thence north-westerly to and along that boundary, and the south-western boundaries of Section 26, Block XV, Orahiri Survey District and 1F 29B 1 aforesaid, to and southerly along the eastern boundary of part Kinohaku East 1F 29B and that boundary produced to the middle of Fullerton Road; thence southerly generally along the middle of Fullerton Road, and easterly generally along the middle of Te Kumi-Te Anga Road, the middle of No. 3 State Highway and the middle of Te Kumi Station Road, to and up the middle of the Mangaokewa Stream, and the middle of the Mahorehore Stream to the northern boundary of Rangitoto Tuhua 25 No. 5B 3, situated in Block VI, Pakaumanu Survey District; thence easterly along the northern boundary of the said 25 No. 5B 3, and its production to and up the middle of the Waipa River to a point in line with the southern boundary of Rangitoto A 67B 1A; thence to and along that boundary, to and southerly along the western boundary of part Rangitoto A 60B, to and up the middle of the Tunawaea Stream to the north-eastern boundary of Section 1, Block VIII, Pakaumanu Survey District; thence south-easterly generally along that boundary to a point due west of the northernmost corner of Lot 1, D.P. S. 7133, situated in Block V, Ranginui Survey District; thence along a right line to that northernmost corner and south-easterly generally along the north-eastern boundaries of Lots 1 and 2, D.P. S. 7133, to the easternmost corner of that last-named lot; thence along a right line across Section 1, Block IX, Ranginui Survey District, to and along the north-eastern boundary of part Rangitoto A 34A to the north-western boundary of Rangitoto A 33; thence north-easterly and south-easterly along the north-western and north-eastern boundaries of Rangitoto A 33 and south-easterly generally along the north-eastern and south-eastern boundaries of Rangitoto A 32B 2, the north-eastern boundaries of Rangitoto A 32A and part A 31A, and the north-eastern and south-eastern boundaries of Rangitoto A 31B to the intersection of that boundary with a right line joining Trig. Station 1641, Rangitoto, in Block IV, Pakaumanu Survey District, and the source of the Ongarue River in Block VII, Hurakia Survey District; thence south-easterly along that right line, to and down the middle of the Ongarue River to a point in line with the western boundary of Section 2, Block X, Hurakia Survey District; thence southerly to and along that boundary and the western boundaries of Section 6, Section 2 aforesaid, and Section 5, all of Block X, Hurakia Survey District, to the northern side of a public road; thence easterly along that roadside to a point in line with the north-western boundary of Section 1, Block XIV, Hurakia Survey District; thence south-westerly generally to and along that north-western boundary and the northern and north-western boundaries of part Rangitoto Tuhua 10 to the north-eastern boundary of Section 2, Block I, Puketapu Survey District; thence north-westerly and south-westerly along that boundary and the north-western boundary of the said Section 2 and along the production of the last-mentioned boundary to the western side of a public road; thence westerly generally along the north-eastern and northern boundaries of Section 1, Block I aforesaid, the north-eastern boundary of Section 2, Block IV, Tuhua Survey District, the north-eastern and north-western boundaries of Section 1, the north-eastern boundaries of Sections 6, 5, and 4, all of Block IV, Tuhua Survey District, and the south-eastern boundary of Section 13, Block XIV, Ongarue Survey District, and that last-mentioned boundary produced to the western side of a public road; thence north-westerly generally along the north-eastern and north-western boundaries of Section 3, Block IV, Tuhua Survey District, the north-eastern boundaries of Sections 2 and 1, Block III, Tuhua Survey District, to and generally north-westerly down the middle of the Mangatukutuku Stream, to and up the middle of the Ongarue River, to and generally north-westerly along the south-western boundary of Block III, Tangitu Survey District, to and generally westerly along the southern boundaries of Blocks II and I, Tangitu Survey District, to and generally westerly along the generally northern boundaries of Sections 1, 10, and 9, Block V, Tangitu Survey District, to and generally northerly along the eastern boundary of Section 8, Block IV, Aria Survey District, to Kakara Road; thence generally westerly and southerly along the southern and eastern sides of that road to the southern boundary of Block IV, Aria Survey District; thence generally westerly along the southern boundary of that block and Block III to the eastern boundary of Block VI, Aria Survey District; thence southerly generally along the eastern boundary of that block, to and generally westerly along its southern boundary to the eastern boundary of Section 2, Block X, Aria Survey District; thence southerly generally along the eastern boundaries of that section and Section 4 of the said Block X to Waitewhena Road; thence along a right line across that road, to and generally northerly along the southern boundary of part Section 1, Block IX, Aria Survey District, to and north-westerly generally along the south-western boundary of that section to the southern boundary of Section 9, Block V, Aria Survey District; thence south-westerly along a right line to the source of the Panirau Stream; thence westerly generally down the middle of that stream to the middle of the Mokau River; thence westerly generally down the middle of that river to a point in line with the north-eastern boundary of Subdivision 2 of Section 3, Block III, Mokau Survey District; thence south-easterly to and along that boundary, to and generally southerly and westerly along the eastern and southern boundaries of part Section 3 of the said Block III, to and southerly along the eastern boundary of Section 8 of the said Block III, to and generally westerly along its southern boundary, to and generally northerly along
