The Road Classification (Manaiā Town District) Notice 1968
Pursuant to regulation 3 of the Heavy Motor Vehicle Regulations 1955*, the Commissioner of Transport hereby gives the following notice.

NOTICE
- This notice may be cited as the Road Classification (Manaiā Town District) Notice 1968.
- The Manaiā Town Council’s proposed classification of the roads as set out in the Schedule hereto is hereby approved.

SCHEDULE
MANAIĀ TOWN DISTRICT
Roads Classified in Class Two
TAUHURI Street (being that part of Manaiā-Dawson Falls Road which lies between No. 54 State Highway (Mangaweka-Palmerston North via Kimbolton) and the Manaiā Town District’s northern boundary with Waimate West County).
Roads Classified in Class Three
ALL other roads under the control of the Manaiā Town Council.

Restriction of Cutting of Timber in the Ureweras
WHEREAS the Soil Conservation and Rivers Control Council is of the opinion that the unrestricted cutting of timber in the Ureweras is likely to facilitate soil erosion or floods or cause deposits in watercourses:
Now, therefore, pursuant to section 34 of the Soil Conservation and Rivers Control Amendment Act 1959 and a direction of the said Council in that behalf, duly confirmed by the Minister of Works, public notice is hereby given that the said Council has declared the cutting or removal of trees on or from the land described in the Schedule hereto, otherwise than in accordance with consents issued by the Minister of Forests prior to the date of this notice in respect of that land, to be likely to facilitate soil erosion or floods or cause deposits in watercourses; and no person shall cut or remove any trees on or from the said land otherwise than in accordance with the said consents of the Minister of Forests without the consent of the said Council first had and obtained.
Applications for consent of the Council should be addressed to the Secretary, Soil Conservation and Rivers Control Council, P.O. Box 12041, Wellington.

SOUTH AUCKLAND AND GISBORNE LAND DISTRICTS
ALL that area in the South Auckland and Gisborne Land Districts bounded by a line commencing at Tapapakiaikia Trig. Station situated in Block IV, Rangitaiki Lower Survey District, and proceeding easterly along the southern boundaries of Rangitaiki Parish and Waimana Parish to the north-western corner of Section 76S, Waimana Settlement; thence southerly along the western boundaries of Sections 76S, 3, and 4, Waimana Settlement, Lots 1 and 3, D.P. 29877, the western and southern boundaries of Waimana 1c 3, the southern boundary of Waimana 1c 2, the south-western boundary of Waimana 1d 1b 2b 1; thence south-easterly along a right line from that point to Trig. Station B 2161 (Kaharoa) in Block II, Waioeka South Survey District; thence along another right line to Trig. Station, Te Wana, in Block II, Koranga West Survey District; thence southerly along the eastern boundary of Paharakeke and Manuoha Blocks; thence south-westerly along the southern boundary of Manuoha Block to Trig. Station, Pukepuke, in Block IV, Waikaremoana West Survey District; thence southerly along the western boundary of Block XVII, Waikaremoana Survey District, to the middle of the Mokau River; thence easterly along a right line to the north-west corner of Section 4, Block X, Tuahu Survey District; thence easterly along the northern boundary of that section, the northern, eastern, and southern boundaries of Section 6, Block X, Tuahu Survey District, the eastern boundary of Section 4 aforesaid, the eastern and southern boundary of Section 5, Block X,
Tuahu Survey District, the southern boundary of Section 2, Block IX, Tuahu Survey District, and northern, western, and southern boundaries of Section 2, Block XII, Tuahu Survey District; the western boundary of Section 1, Block XII, Tuahu Survey District; thence westerly along the southern boundaries of Section 1, Block XIX, Waikaremoana Survey District, and Urewera National Park in Block XIX aforesaid, to the southern shore of Lake Waikaremoana; thence westerly along that shore to another portion of the southern boundary of the Urewera National Park in Block XV, Waikaremoana Survey District; thence westerly generally along that southern boundary to the Maungataniwha Trig. Station in Block XIV, Tuwatawata Survey District; thence north-westerly along the north-eastern boundaries of Heruiwi 4d, 4g, 4f 2, and 4b 1 Blocks; thence north-easterly along the north-western boundary of Urewera A Block to Tikorangi Trig. Station in Block IX, Ahikereru Survey District; thence northerly along a right line to Puhipuhi Trig. Station; thence along a right line to Ponaua Trig. Station; thence due north to the middle of the Mangawiri Stream in Block I, Ahikereru Survey District; thence down the middle of the Mangawiri Stream and up the middle of the Whirinaki River to a point in line with the southern boundary of Galatea Settlement; thence easterly to and along that boundary and northerly along the eastern boundary of that settlement, the eastern boundary of Waiohau Block to Trig. Station O in Block VII, Rangitaiki Lower Survey District; thence north-easterly along a right line to the Hiwera Trig. Station in Block IV, Rangitaiki Lower Survey District; thence north-easterly along a right line to the point of commencement.
As the same is more particularly delineated edged red on plan marked M.O.W. 1309 deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington.
