Authorising New Zealand Government Railways to Erect and Use Certain Electric Lines in the Borough of Oamaru

Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE ADMINISTRATOR OF THE GOVERNMENT IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to the Public Works Act 1928, His Excellency the Administrator of the Government, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby authorises New Zealand Government Railways (hereinafter referred to as the licensee), subject to the conditions hereinafter set forth, to lay, construct, put up, place, and use the electric lines described in the Schedule hereto.

CONDITIONS
IMPLIED CONDITIONS
- The conditions directed to be implied in all licences by the Electrical Supply Regulations 1967 and the Electrical Wiring Regulations 1961 shall be incorporated in and shall form part of this licence, except in so far as the same may be inconsistent with the provisions hereof.
LICENCE SUBJECT TO REGULATIONS
- The licence hereby conferred is subject to compliance by the licensee with the Electrical Supply Regulations 1967, the Electrical Wiring Regulations 1961, the Radio Interference Regulations 1958, and with all regulations hereafter made in amendment thereof or in substitution therefor respectively.
SYSTEM OF SUPPLY
- The system of supply shall be described in paragraphs (a), (b), and (d) of regulation 15 of the Electrical Supply Regulations 1967.
DURATION OF LICENCE
- Unless sooner lawfully determined, this licence shall continue in force until the 31st day of March 1988.

SCHEDULE
LINES for the supply of electrical energy by the system of supply hereinbefore described proceeding as follows:
(a) From a high-voltage substation adjacent to the communication exchange at the northern end of the Oamaru Railway Station platform and proceeding in a northerly direction by underground cable across Humber Street to the New Zealand Railway’s hut compound.
(b) From a transformer situated in the Oamaru Railway Station yard and proceeding by underground cable in a south-westerly direction for approximately 6½ chains then in a westerly direction across Humber Street to the New Zealand Railway Road Services Workshops.
All being situated in Lots 18 and 19, Block VIII, and Lots 8, 9, and 10 Block V, Town of Oamaru, the said buildings and cables being more particularly shown on the plan marked N.Z.E.D. 728 deposited in the office of the New Zealand Electricity Department at Wellington.

PURSUANT to the Public Works Act 1928 and section 3 of the Public Works Amendment Act 1947, His Excellency the Administrator of the Government, at the request of the National Roads Board and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby authorises the construction of a further portion of the motorway to be known as the Tauranga-Te Maunga Motorway, commencing at a point on Turret Road at the northern end of the Hairini Bridge and proceeding generally south-easterly for a distance of approximately 1 mile and terminating at a point on the north-eastern boundary of part Maungatapu 1A Block.

PURSUANT to section 3 of the Public Works Amendment Act 1947, His Excellency the Administrator of the Government, at the request of the National Roads Board, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby authorises the construction of the motorways severally named and described in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE
AUCKLAND SOUTH-EASTERN MOTORWAY
THIS motorway, a continuation of the Grafton Gully-Beach Road Motorway in Auckland City, will start on the northern side of the Beach Road-Stanley Street intersection and proceed in a general easterly direction to parallel Tamaki Drive, before crossing Hobson Bay on the east side of the Auckland-Westfield railway line. It will parallel the railway line on its east side to the vicinity of St. Johns Road where it will cross to the west side before crossing back to the east side of the railway in the vicinity of Tamaki Station. Proceeding south through Mt. Wellington Borough it will pass to the east of the Panmure Basin, intersect with the Pakuranga Motorway south of the Panmure Bridge, and follow the Tamaki River before turning in a westerly direction to parallel Panama Road and cross the Mt. Wellington Highway and Great South Road to the south of the Westfield Freezing Works. It will follow the northern shoreline of Manukau Harbour generally into the Onehunga Borough, to terminate at its Gloucester Park interchange with State Highway 20.
PAKURANGA MOTORWAY
THIS motorway will start at its interchange with the south-eastern motorway and proceed in an easterly direction through Manukau City. It will parallel Ti Rakau Drive and pass south of Dale Crescent and Snell Place to terminate at the south end of Gossamer Drive.
AUCKLAND SOUTH-WESTERN MOTORWAY
THIS motorway will start at its interchange with State Highway 20. It will proceed in a general north-western direction parallelling Stoddard Road on its south side, crossing Richardson Road between Valonia Street and Stoddard Road, parallelling Hendon Avenue on its south side, and intersecting the Henderson Motorway just north of New North Road. It will then proceed in a northerly direction east of and parallel to Great North Road along Oakley Creek, and terminate at its interchange with State Highway 16.
HENDERSON MOTORWAY
THIS motorway will start at its interchange with the south-western motorway which is located between Blockhouse Bay Road and New North Road, it will proceed west between Henry Street and Walsall Street, and between Riversdale Road and Canal Road, and then cross the Whau River and Wairau Creek on a line approximately parallel to and just south of Brains Road. From Wairau Creek it will continue west to cross Hepburn Road, Farquhar Road towards its northern end, and Great North Road between Grange Road and View Road, terminating in Henderson Valley Road south of Domain Road.
