(a) North for one span of overhead line across the return channel, underground across Island Road and in a north-westerly direction generally by overhead lines around oxidation pond 3 to a transformer at pond 4; and

(b) In a south-westerly direction generally around oxidation pond 2 to a transformer at pond 1 with the lower voltage line continuing on to a pole at the south-west corner of the pond.

All being situated on the Auckland Regional Authority’s sewerage treatment land in the City of Manukau; the said lines being more particularly shown by means of red lines and blue lines on the plans marked N.Z.E.D. 734/1, 2, 3, and 4, deposited in the office of the New Zealand Electricity Department at Wellington.

Authorising Manapouri - Doubtful Sound Tourist Co. Ltd., Launch Proprietors, of Manapouri, to Use Water for the Purpose of Generating Electricity

HIS EXCELLENCY THE ADMINISTRATOR OF THE GOVERNMENT IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to the Public Works Act 1928, His Excellency the Administrator of the Government, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby authorises Manapouri - Doubtful Sound Tourist Co. Ltd., Launch Proprietors, of Manapouri (hereinafter referred to as the licensee), subject to the conditions hereinafter set forth, to take and use from an unnamed stream (hereinafter referred to as the said stream), situated in the Fiordland National Park, in the Wallace County, for the purpose hereinafter set forth, a stream of water not exceeding 1½ cu. ft. per second at any one time.


CONDITIONS

IMPLIED CONDITIONS

  1. The conditions directed to be implied in all licences by the Water Power Regulations 1934 and the Electrical Supply Regulations 1967 shall be incorporated in and shall form part of this licence, except in so far as the same may be inconsistent with the provisions hereof.

LICENCE SUBJECT TO REGULATIONS

  1. This licence is issued under the Water Power Regulations 1934 and is subject thereto, and to the Electric Supply Regulations 1967, and the Electrical Wiring Regulations 1961, the Radio Interference Regulations 1958, and to all regulations hereafter made in amendment thereof or in substitution therefor respectively.

UTILISATION OF WATER AND LOCATION OF HEADWORKS

  1. Water shall be used under this licence solely for the purpose of generating electricity and shall be taken from the said stream at the point in Fiordland National Park, indicated on the plan marked N.Z.E.D. 731 deposited in the office of the New Zealand Electricity Department at Wellington.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF WORKS

  1. The licensee is hereby authorised, subject to the conditions hereof, to construct, maintain, and use the following works for the purposes of this licence, the position of the said works being indicated on the said plan N.Z.E.D. 731.

(a) Headworks consisting of an intake with a water-race and pipe-line leading across Fiordland National Park to the pelton wheel and powerhouse hereinafter referred to, giving a static head of approximately 266 ft.

(b) Pelton wheel and powerhouse with all necessary equipment for generating electricity, situated in Fiordland National Park.

(c) Tailrace leading from the said powerhouse to Lake Te Anau.

SYSTEM OF SUPPLY

  1. The system of supply shall be as described in paragraph (d) of regulation 15 of the Electrical Supply Regulations 1967, and shall be an alternating current system.

DURATION OF LICENCE

  1. Unless sooner lawfully determined, this licence shall continue in force until the 31st day of March 1988.

RENTAL

  1. For the purpose of assessing the rental or annual sum payable in respect of this licence the present plant is rated at 12 kilowatts.

NO RIGHT TO WATER CONFERRED

  1. Nothing in this licence shall of itself confer upon the licensee any right to water.

Authorising Ehau Joseph Thomas, Engineer, of Waitangi, Chatham Islands, to Erect and Use Certain Electric Lines

HIS EXCELLENCY THE ADMINISTRATOR OF THE GOVERNMENT IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to the Public Works Act 1928, His Excellency the Administrator of the Government, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby authorises Ehau Joseph Thomas, Engineer, of Waitangi, Chatham Islands (hereinafter referred to as the licensee), subject to the conditions hereinafter set forth, to lay, construct, put up, place, and use the lines described in the Schedule hereto.

Setting Apart Maori Freehold Land as a Maori Reservation

PURSUANT to section 439 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, His Excellency the Administrator of the Government, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby sets apart the Maori freehold land described in the Schedule hereto as a Maori reservation for the purposes of a burial ground and place of historical interest for the common use and benefit of the owners and their descendants and to be called “Kaipiha Urupa.”
