Notification of Vacancy of Seat in the House of Representatives for the Electoral District of Palmerston North

IN compliance with the provisions of section 72 of the Electoral Act 1956, I, Roy Emile Jack, Speaker of the House of Representatives of New Zealand, hereby notify that William Henry Brown, a member of the House of Representatives for the Electoral District of Palmerston North, died on the 17th day of October 1967, during a recess of the House, and that the said seat in the House of Representatives for the said Electoral District is vacant by reason of such death.

Plant Declared a Noxious Weed in the County of Mangonui (Notice No. Ag. 10142)

PURSUANT to section 3 of the Noxious Weeds Act 1955, and to a delegation from the Minister of Agriculture under section 9 of the Department of Agriculture Act 1953 for the purpose of the said section, the following special order made by the Mangonui County Council on 27 September 1967, is hereby published.

SPECIAL ORDER

THAT in exercise of the powers conferred upon it by section 3 (1) of the Noxious Weeds Act 1950, the Mangonui County Council hereby resolves by way of special order, to declare the plant “Sedge (Carex longebrachiata also known as Carex longifolia)” to be a noxious weed within the Mangonui County as from the 1st day of October 1967.

National Roads Board—Notice Declaring State Highway to be a Limited Access Road

It is notified that the National Roads Board by resolution dated 18 October 1967 and pursuant to section 4 of the Public Works Amendment Act 1963, hereby declares that part of No. 1 State Highway (Awanui-Bluff) from Terrace Street near the southern end of the Waitaki River Bridge generally southwards to the northern boundary of Oamaru Borough, a distance of 10.5 miles, as more particularly shown on sheets 1, 2, and 3 of M.O.W. 13807, and the accompanying Schedule held in the office of the Engineer, Ministry of Works, Oamaru, and there available for public inspection, to be a limited access road.

Varying Notice of Declaration of State Highway

PURSUANT to section 11 of the National Roads Act 1953, the National Roads Board, acting with the written approval of the Minister of Works, hereby gives notice that it varies the notice declaring public highways to be State highways, dated 9 March 1960, published in the Gazette, 24 March 1960, Vol. I, page 384, by deleting from the Schedule to the said notice the paragraph described in the First Schedule hereto, and substituting therefor the paragraph set out in the Second Schedule hereto as from and including the date of this notice.

FIRST SCHEDULE

PARAGRAPH deleted from the South Island section of Part II of the Schedule to the said notice:

Dunedin—No. 1 State Highway.

SECOND SCHEDULE

PARAGRAPH substituted in the South Island section of Part II of the Schedule to the said notice:

Dunedin—No. 1 State Highway.

(a) From the Dunedin-Waitati Motorway at the boundary of Dunedin City along Pine Hill Road, Great King Street, Duke Street, Castle Street, High Street, Cumberland Street, Andersons Bay Road, Bridgeman Street, Wilkie Road, Main South Road, and Caversham Valley Road to the south-western boundary of the city.

(b) From the intersection of Duke Street and Cumberland Street, along Cumberland Street, High Street, and Crawford Street to the intersection of Andersons Bay Road and Cumberland Street.

Boundaries of Taumarunui County Defined

PURSUANT to section 16 of the Counties Act 1956, the Secretary for Internal Affairs hereby defines as set out in the Schedule hereto, the boundaries of the County of Taumarunui, the previous boundaries having been altered by Order in Council made on the 6th day of December 1960, and published in Gazette, 8 December 1960, No. 81, page 1921*.

SCHEDULE

ALL that area in the South Auckland, Taranaki, and Wellington Land Districts, bounded by a line commencing at the Trig. Station 1390, Pureora, in Block III, Hurakia Survey District, and proceeding southerly along the western boundary of part Tihoi 3B Block; thence southerly and easterly along the western and southern boundaries of Tihoi 3B 8A Block; thence southerly along another part of the western boundary of part Tihoi 3B Block and the western boundary of Tihoi 1 Block, to the western shore of Lake Taupo; thence southerly along that shore to the middle of the mouth of the Waihi Stream; thence south-westerly along right lines to Trig. Station Tongariro, No. 1, Trig. Station D, Ngauruhoe, and Trig. Station H, Paretetaitonga; thence westerly along a right line to Trig. Station I, Te Kohatu, a right line to the source of the Makatote Stream and down the middle of that stream to the eastern boundary of Section 13, Block VIII, Manganui Survey District; thence due south along a right line to the middle of the Manganuiateao River; thence westerly down the middle of that river to a point in line with the southern boundary of Section 24, Block XI, Manganui Survey District; thence north-westerly generally to and along that boundary and its production to the middle of the Raetihi-Waimarino Road, along the middle of that road to a point in line with the south-western boundary of Section 24, Block VII, Manganui Survey District, to and along that boundary, the south-eastern and south-western boundaries of Section 4, Block VI, Manganui Survey District, the production of the last-mentioned boundary to the middle of Makino Road, along the middle of that road to a point in line with the south-western boundary of Section 2, Block VI aforesaid, to and along that boundary and the south-western boundaries of Section 1, Block VI aforesaid, the south-western and northern boundaries of Section 4, Block II, Manganui Survey District, the south-western boundary of Section 3, Block I aforesaid, and the production of that boundary to the middle of the Ruatiti-Erua Road, along the middle of that road to a point due south of the intersection of the western boundary of Lot 2 of Section 3, Block II aforesaid, and the northern side of that road; thence due north to the said intersection; thence northerly along the western boundary of the said Lot 2 of Section 3 aforesaid, and its production to the middle of the Ruatiti Stream; thence northerly up the middle of that stream to a point in line with the southern boundary of Section 8, Block XIII, Kaitieke Survey District; thence westerly generally to and along that boundary and the south-western boundary of that section and its production to the middle of Kokako Road, along the middle of that road to a point in line with the south-western boundary of Section 5, Block XIII aforesaid, to and along that boundary and the south-western boundary of Lot 1 of Section 3, the south-eastern boundary of Section 9, Block XIII aforesaid, and its production to the middle of the Maungaroa Road and along the middle of that road to a point in line with the northern boundary of Section 3, Block IV, Whirinaki Survey District; thence generally westerly to and along that boundary and the north-western boundaries of the said Section 3, the northern boundaries of Sections 6 and 7, Block IV, aforesaid, the north-eastern boundary of Section 8, Block III, Whirinaki Survey District, the eastern and northern boundaries of Section 9, Block III, aforesaid, and the production of the last-mentioned boundary to the north-eastern boundary of Section 11, Block
