Land Set Apart as Provisional State Forest Declared to be Subject to the Land Act 1948

A PROCLAMATION

PURSUANT to subsection (2) of section 19 of the Forests Act 1949, I, Brigadier Sir Bernard Edward Fergusson, the Governor-General of New Zealand, acting on the joint recommendation of the Minister of Lands and of the Minister of Forests, hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto, being provisional State forest reserve set apart by Proclamation dated the 29th day of September 1924, and published in Gazette, 2 October 1924, Volume III, page 2243, is required for settlement purposes; and in accordance with the provisions of the said Act such land shall, from and after the day of gazetting hereof, cease to be provisional State forest land and shall become Crown land available for sale, lease, reservation, or other disposition under the provisions of the Land Act 1948.

SOUTHLAND LAND DISTRICTโ€”SOUTHLAND COUNTY

SECTIONS 27 and 28, Block XII, Mokereta Survey District: Area, 296 acres and 3 roods, more or less (S.O. Plan 7680).

Amalgamating the Waitakere and Hunua Rural Fire Districts and Changing the Fire Authority

PURSUANT to the Forest and Rural Fires Act 1955, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.


O R D E R

  1. The Order in Council dated the 10th day of November 1948, and published in the Gazette on the 18th day of November 1948, at page 1394, as amended by the Order in Council dated the 11th day of February 1953, and published in the Gazette on the 19th day of February 1953, at page 223 (hereinafter referred to as the Waitakere Rural Fire District Order), is hereby further amended by including in the Schedule thereto the land described in the Schedule to the Order in Council dated the 10th day of November 1948, and published in the Gazette on the 18th day of November 1948, at page 1395 (hereinafter referred to as the Hunua Rural Fire District Order), and shall from the date of this order be known as the Waitakere-Hunua Rural Fire District.

  2. The Hunua Rural Fire District Order is hereby consequentially revoked.

  3. The Waitakere-Hunua Rural Fire District as hereby constituted shall be administered by the Auckland Regional Authority for the purposes of the said Act.

  4. This Order in Council shall come into force on the day following publication hereof in the Gazette.

The Waitaki Valley Acclimatisation District Order 1967

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to section 24 of the Wildlife Act 1953, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order:


O R D E R

  1. (1) This order may be cited as the Waitaki Valley Acclimatisation District Order 1967.

(2) This order shall come into force on the 1st day of September 1967.

  1. The area described in the Schedule to this order is hereby declared to be an acclimatisation district under the name of the Waitaki Valley Acclimatisation District, under and for the purposes of the Wildlife Act 1953.

  2. The Waimate Acclimatisation District and the Waitaki Acclimatisation District (the boundaries of which are defined in the Warrant of the Governor-General, dated the 4th day of March 1925*) are hereby abolished.


SCHEDULE

ALL that area in the Canterbury and Otago Land Districts bounded by a line commencing at a point in the middle of the mouth of the Pareora River and proceeding westerly generally up the middle of that river to its source, a right line to the summit of Mount Nimrod, a right line to Trig. Station F, along the summit of the Hunter Hills to Trig. Station K, along a line due west to the Hakataramea River, up that river and Dalgety Stream to Hakataramea Pass, along a right line passing through Trig. Station N 1 to Stony Stream and down that stream to the shore of Lake Benmore; thence due south-westerly along a right line to the middle of that lake; thence northerly up the middle of that lake, the Pukaki River, Lake Pukaki and the Tasman River to the Tasman Glacier, to and along the western side of that glacier to a point on the production of a line from the summit of Mount Cook to Ball Hut, to and along that line to the summit of Mount Cook, and along the Mount Cook Range to the Southern Alps; thence south-westerly along the summit of the Southern Alps passing through Mount Sefton, Mount Burns, Mount Hopkins, Mount Williams, and Mount Jackson to Broderick Pass; thence southerly generally along the summit of the range passing through Mount Huxley and Lindis Pass to Old Man Peak; thence north-easterly generally along the summit of the range to the summit of the Wether Range; thence southerly generally along the summit of that range and the St. Bathans Range to Mount St. Bathans; thence due east along a right line to the summit of the Hawkdun Range; thence south-easterly and easterly generally along the summit of that range, passing through Mount Ida to Dansey Pass; thence southerly to and along the summit of the Kakanui Range to the source of the south branch of the Waianakarua River; thence south-easterly generally down the middle of that river to a point in line with the south-eastern boundary of Section 27, Block III, Waihemo Survey District; thence south-westerly across a public road to and along that boundary to another public road; thence south-easterly generally along the last-mentioned road to the eastern boundary of Section 4, Block XIV, Moeraki Survey District; thence southerly along that boundary to the northern boundary of Block XII, Moeraki Survey District; thence easterly and southerly along the northern and eastern boundaries of the said Block XII, and the southern boundary of Block XI, Moeraki Survey District, to the north-western corner of Section 31, Block XI aforesaid; thence easterly along the northern boundary of that section to a public road; thence southerly generally along that road to a closed road; thence south-easterly generally along the said closed road to the southern boundary of Section 43, Block IX, Moeraki Survey District; thence easterly along the southern boundaries of Sections 43, 44, and 45, Block IX aforesaid, to the western boundary of Part 1 of Section 20, Block III, Moeraki Survey District; thence northerly along that boundary and its production to the sea coast; thence northerly along the sea coast to a point in the middle of the mouth of the Pareora River, being the point of commencement.

PURSUANT to the Local Government Commission Act 1961, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order:


O R D E R

  1. This order shall take effect on the 1st day of September 1967.

  2. The areas described in the Schedules hereto are hereby excluded from the County of Kairanga and included in the City of Palmerston North.
