Declaring Land Acquired for a Government Work and Not Required for That Purpose to be Crown Land


PURSUANT to section 35 of the Public Works Act 1928, the Minister of Works hereby declares the land described in the Schedule hereto to be Crown land subject to the Land Act 1948, as from the 31st of July 1967.

Foreshore Licence at Rakino Island Amended


PURSUANT to the Harbours Act 1950, the Minister of Marine hereby amends the Schedule to the licence of 25 January 1967*, authorising Ernest Hammond Hill, to use and occupy a part of the foreshore and bed of the sea at Woody Bay, Rakino Island, for a jetty, by reducing the annual sum payable from thirteen dollars ($13) to one dollar ($1).

The Motor Launch (Lake Wakatipu) Notice 1967


PURSUANT to the Motor Launch Regulations 1962, the Minister of Marine hereby gives the following notice:


NOTICE

  1. (1) This notice may be cited as the Motor Launch (Lake Wakatipu) Notice 1967.

(2) This notice shall come into force on the date of its publication in the Gazette, and shall expire at the end of two years after that date.

  1. Regulations 11 and 12 of the Motor Launch Regulations 1962*, shall not apply with respect to powered vessels and water skiers operating in the area described in the First Schedule hereto, subject to compliance with the conditions specified in the Second Schedule hereto, and so long as the notices specified in clauses 2 and 3 of that Schedule are erected in accordance with those clauses.

FIRST SCHEDULE

ALL that area of water of Lake Wakatipu at Kingston within 200 yd of the edge of the water and bounded on the sides by parallel lines 500 yd apart, the western boundary line being extended in a 030° direction from a point on the shore line about 75 yd east of the New Zealand Railways wharf embankment marked by a large willow tree.


SECOND SCHEDULE

  1. No person shall propel or navigate a powered vessel at a proper speed greater than 5 miles per hour when—

(a) Within 100 ft of any other vessel; or

(b) Within 100 ft of any person in the water, or bathing, or fishing.

  1. The area of water described in the First Schedule hereto shall be shown cross hatched on a plan of the lake on a scale not less than 5 chains to 1 in., which shall be displayed on the lower portion of a notice board measuring not less than 2 ft 6 in. by 2 ft, painted bright orange with black lettering, which notice board shall be erected at each place where boats are normally launched.

  2. The upper and middle portion of the aforesaid notice board shall contain the following notice—


"NOTICE
Motor Launch Regulations 1962

There is no speed restriction for motor launches and water skiers using the area shown cross hatched on the plan below subject to the following conditions:

No person shall propel or navigate a powered vessel at a proper speed greater than 5 miles per hour when—

(a) Within 100 ft of any other vessel; or

(b) Within 100 ft of any person in the water or bathing or fishing."

Exemption Order Under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1964


PURSUANT to the Motor Drivers Regulations 1964*, the Minister of Transport hereby orders and declares that the provisions of clause (1) of regulation 16 of the said regulations so far as they relate to the driving of heavy trade motors shall not apply to the person hereinafter mentioned, but in lieu thereof the following provisions shall apply:

A motor driver’s licence issued under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1964* to the person described in column 1 of the Schedule hereunder may authorise him to drive a heavy trade motor in the course of his employment for the employer described in column 2 of the said Schedule, but shall not authorise him, while he is under the age of 18 years, to drive a heavy trade motor for any other purpose.
