Defining the Middle Line of a Portion of the Grafton Gully-Beach Road Motorway in the City of Auckland

A PROCLAMATION
PURSUANT to section 4 of the Public Works Amendment Act 1947, I, Brigadier Sir Bernard Edward Fergusson, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby proclaim and declare that the middle line of a motorway desired to be constructed in Block VIII, Rangitoto Survey District, viz, a portion of the Grafton Gully-Beach Road Motorway, shall be that defined and set forth in the Schedule hereto; and I also declare that this Proclamation shall affect only the land situated within the limits shown edged red on the plan marked M.O.W. 21280 referred to in the Schedule hereto.

COMMENCING at a point on the northern boundary of Beckham Place, 9 chains from its junction with Grafton Road, which point is marked A on the plan marked M.O.W. 21280, hereinafter referred to; thence generally in a northerly direction for a distance of approximately 1 mile 8 chains to a point at the junction of Waterloo Quadrant and Princes Street, which point is marked C on the said plan. Also commencing at a point on the southern boundary of Wynyard Street, which point is marked B on the said plan and thence in a north-easterly direction for a distance of approximately 12 chains to a point at the junction of Wellesley Street and Princes Street, which point is marked D on the said plan. PURSUANT to section 18 of the Forests Act 1949, I, Brigadier Sir Bernard Edward Fergusson, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby set apart the Crown land described in the Schedule hereto as permanent State forest land.
