Consenting to the Use of the Word “National”

PURSUANT to the Police Offences Act 1927, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby consents to the use of the word “National” in the name of the School of Ballet established pursuant to a resolution passed at a meeting of the Queen Elizabeth the Second Arts Council, held on the 14th day of December 1965.

Boundaries of Opotiki and Whakatane Counties Altered

At the Government Buildings at Wellington this 27th day of February 1967

THE RIGHT HON. KEITH HOLYOAKE, C.H., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to the Local Government Commission Act 1961, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.

ORDER

  1. This order shall take effect on the 1st day of April 1967.
  2. The area described in the Schedule hereto is hereby excluded from the County of Opotiki and included in the County of Whakatane.
  3. The said alteration shall be deemed to have been effected under the Counties Act 1956.

SCHEDULE

ALL that area in the Gisborne Land District, Opotiki County, containing 104.06 square miles, more or less, bounded by a line commencing at the westernmost corner of Lot 2 of Section 2, Block VIII, Waimana Survey District, and proceeding easterly along the southern boundary of that Lot 2 to Trig. Station C, being a point on the eastern watershed of the Waimana River; thence generally southerly along the generally eastern watershed of the Waimana and Tauranga Rivers, to the headwaters of the Waingaro Stream, situated in Block XII, Ruatahuna Survey District, being a point on the Opotiki County boundary, as described by New Zealand Gazette, 1949, page 1427, and amended by New Zealand Gazette, 1964, page 2182; thence generally northerly along that county boundary to the point of commencement.

THE RIGHT HON. KEITH HOLYOAKE, C.H., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to the Local Government Commission Act 1961, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.

ORDER

  1. This order shall take effect on the 1st day of April 1967.
  2. The area described in the Schedule hereto is hereby excluded from the County of Opotiki and included in the County of Waiapu.
  3. The said alteration of boundaries shall be deemed to be effected under the Counties Act 1956.

SCHEDULE

ALL that area in the Cape Riding, County of Opotiki, containing 15,620 acres approximately, bounded by a line commencing at a point in Block III, Whangaparaoa Survey District, in the middle of the Mangapouri Stream, in line with the eastern boundary of Lot 1, D.P. 10599 (AK), and proceeding south-westerly generally up the middle of that stream to a point in line with the northern boundary of the said Lot 1, D.P. 10599 (AK), to, and along, that boundary, the western boundary of that Lot, and of Lot 2, D.P. 10599 (AK), and the production of the last-mentioned boundary to the middle of the Whekeiro Stream, down the middle of that stream to, and down, the middle of the Mangahinatore Stream, to, and down the middle of the Waikura River, to, and up, the middle of the Raukokore River, to, and up, the middle of the Mangahaupapa Stream, to a point in line with the south-eastern boundary of Lot 2, D.P. 9472 (AK), in Block III, Raukumara West Survey District; thence northerly generally to, and along, the south-eastern boundary of the said Lot 2, the south-eastern and north-eastern boundaries of Lot 1, D.P. 9472 (AK), and the production of the last-mentioned boundary to the middle of the Waikura River, up the middle of that River to a point in line with the eastern boundary of Lot 4, D.P. 10600 (AK), to, and along that boundary, the eastern boundaries of Lot 3, D.P. 10600 (AK), Lots 2 and 1, D.P. 10599 (AK), and the production of the last-mentioned boundary to the middle of the Mangapouri Stream, the point of commencement.

PURSUANT to section 439 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby sets apart the Maori freehold land described in the Schedule hereto as a Maori reservation, for the common use and benefit of the Maori people generally.
