ORDER

  1. (1) This order may be cited as the Bank of New Zealand (Interest on Long-term Advances) Order 1967.
    (2) This order shall come into force on the day after the date of its publication in the Gazette.

  2. Consent is hereby given to the charging of interest at a rate not exceeding seven percent per annum on all advances made after the commencement of this order from the Long-term Mortgage Fund established pursuant to section 21 of the Bank of New Zealand Act 1926.

  1. This order may be cited as the Canterbury Savings Bank Order 1962, Amendment No. 4, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Canterbury Savings Bank Order 1962* (hereinafter referred to as the principal order).

  2. The principal order is hereby amended by revoking clauses 8, 10, 12, and 13.

Pursuant to section 439 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby sets apart the Maori freehold land described in the Schedule hereto as a Maori reservation for the purpose of a burial ground to be called “Wharekaho Urupa”, and to be held for the common use and benefit of the owners and of other members of the Ngatihei subtribe.

Pursuant to the Public Works Act 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby authorises William Gray Henderson, of Lake Brunner, hotelkeeper (hereinafter referred to as the licensee), subject to the conditions hereinafter set forth, to take and use from Carew’s Creek (hereinafter referred to as the said stream), situated in Scenic Reserve 1451, Block XI, Hohonu Survey District, in the County of Grey, for the purpose hereinafter set forth, a stream of water not exceeding 3 cu. ft. per second at any one time, and to lay, construct, put up, place, and use the electric lines hereinafter described.

CONDITIONS

IMPLIED CONDITIONS
  1. The conditions directed to be implied in all licences by the Water-power Regulations 1934 and the Electrical Supply Regulations 1935 shall be incorporated in and shall form part of this licence, except in so far as the same may be inconsistent with the provisions hereof.
LICENCE SUBJECT TO REGULATIONS
  1. This licence is issued under the Water-power Regulations 1934 and is subject thereto and to the Electrical Supply Regulations 1935, the Electrical Wiring Regulations 1961, and the Radio Interference Regulations 1958, and to all regulations hereafter made in amendment thereof or in substitution therefor respectively.
UTILISATION OF WATER AND LOCATION OF HEADWORKS
  1. Water shall be used under this licence solely for the purpose of generating electricity and shall be taken from the said stream at the point in Scenic Reserve 1451, Block XI, Hohonu Survey District, indicated on the plan marked N.Z.E.D. 511, deposited in the office of the New Zealand Electricity Department at Wellington.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF WORKS
  1. The licensee is hereby authorised, subject to the conditions hereof, to construct, maintain, and use the following works for the purposes of this licence, the position of the said works being indicated on the said plan N.Z.E.D. 511:

(a) Headworks consisting of an intake with a water race and pipeline leading across Scenic Reserve 1451 to the pelton wheel and powerhouse hereinafter referred to, giving a static head of approximately 80 ft.
(b) Pelton wheel and powerhouse with all necessary equipment for generating electricity, situated in Section 3671, Block XI, Hohonu Survey District.
(c) Tail race leading from the said powerhouse to the said stream in Scenic Reserve 1451.
(d) Electric lines leading from the said powerhouse and proceeding in a north-westerly direction generally across a stream and a road to certain cottages and thence in a south-easterly direction across a private access road to a bach all situated in Section 2032, all being situated in Block XI, Hohonu Survey District, in the County of Grey.

SYSTEM OF SUPPLY
  1. The system of supply shall be as described in paragraph (d) of regulation 21-01 of the Electrical Supply Regulations 1935, and shall be an alternating-current system.
DURATION OF LICENCE
  1. Unless sooner lawfully determined, this licence shall continue in force until the 31st day of March 1988, or until electrical energy is available from an Electric Power Board or some other public source of supply, whichever is the earlier.
CHARGES ON SALE
  1. The charge for the sale of electricity shall not exceed 5s. per cottage or hut per week, but notwithstanding the foregoing provision the licensee may make such minimum charge as may be authorised under the Electrical Supply Regulations 1935. Payment shall not be demanded from any consumer at intervals of less than 21 days apart.
