an objection to the amount of payment of compensation, must lodge their objections in writing and send the same, within 40 days from the first publication of this notice to the County Clerk, Whangarei County Council, Box 4102, Kamo. If any objection is made a public hearing of the objection will be held, unless the objector otherwise requires, and each objector will be advised of the time and place of the hearing. At any such hearing the objector shall be advised of the reasons for the proposed taking.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND


NOTICE is hereby given that the Christchurch City Council proposes, under the provisions of the Public Works Act 1928, to take the land described in the First Schedule hereto for the purposes of a public work, namely, for street, and the land described in the Second Schedule hereto for the use, convenience, or enjoyment of a street.

Every person affected should set forth, in writing, any objections he may wish to make to the execution of the said work or to the taking of the said land, not being an objection to the amount or the payment of compensation, and should lodge the written objection at the offices of the Christchurch City Council, Manchester Street, Christchurch, within 40 days from the 31st day of October 1966, being the date of the first publication of this notice in the Christchurch Press.

FIRST SCHEDULE

ALL that piece of land situated in the City of Christchurch containing five-tenths of a perch (0·5p.), or thereabouts, being part Rural Section 69, and being also part of the land described in certificate of title, Volume 20, folio 116 (Canterbury Registry); as the same is shown, coloured sepia, on a plan deposited at the office of the Chief Surveyor at Christchurch as S.O. 10507.

SECOND SCHEDULE

ALL that piece of land situated in the City of Christchurch containing ten and four-tenths perches (10·4p.), or thereabouts, being part Rural Section 69, and being also the balance of the land described in certificate of title, Volume 20, folio 116 (Canterbury Registry); as the same is shown, edged sepia, on the said plan.

The land described in the First and Second Schedules is situated at Leeds Street, in the City of Christchurch, and the registered proprietor thereof is described as “Rowland Palai ret, of Christchurch, gentleman”.

LEVIN BOROUGH COUNCIL


RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE


Buildings Loan 1966

PURSUANT to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Levin Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing the annual charges on a loan of five thousand pounds (£5,000) authorised to be raised by the Levin Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of making alterations to the existing Municipal Buildings, the said Levin Borough Council hereby makes a special rate of nine four-hundredths of a penny (⁹⁄₄₀₀d.) in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the Borough of Levin; and that the special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of the loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of the loan, being a period of 30 years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

Waterworks Loan 1966

PURSUANT to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Levin Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:

“That for the purpose of providing the annual charges on a loan of sixteen thousand pounds (£16,000) authorised to be raised by the Levin Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of replacing existing water mains and laying additional mains, the said Levin Borough Council hereby makes a special rate of twenty-six four hundredths of a penny (²⁶⁄₄₀₀d.) in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the Borough of Levin; and that the special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of the loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of the loan, being a period of 30 years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

LOWER HUTT CITY COUNCIL


RESOLUTION TO MAKE SPECIAL RATE


Redemption Loan No. 22, 1966, £65,000 ($130,000)

THAT, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Lower Hutt City Council hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of sixty-five thousand pounds (£65,000) ($130,000) authorised to be raised by the Lower Hutt City Council under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of repaying on maturity that portion of the Maungaraki Development Loan No. 4, 1963, £65,000 which matures on 1 December 1966, the said Lower Hutt City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one and four hundred and seventy-nine thousandths of a penny (1·479d.) in the pound (£) on the rateable value (on the basis of the annual value) on all rateable property in the City of Lower Hutt; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be incorporated and added to the consolidated special rate made pursuant to the provisions of section 108A of the Municipal Corporations Act 1954, and be payable yearly on or about the 1st day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of three years, or until such time as the loan is paid off.”

I hereby certify that the above resolution was duly passed at the meeting of the Lower Hutt City Council held on 25 October 1966.

THAT, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Lower Hutt City Council hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of sixteen thousand pounds (£16,000) ($32,000) authorised to be raised by the Lower Hutt City Council under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of repaying on maturity that portion of the Streets Reconstruction Loan No. 9, 1960, £30,000 which matures on 1 December 1966, the said Lower Hutt City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one hundred and thirty-eight thousandths of a penny in the pound (£) on the rateable value (on the basis of the annual value) on all rateable property in the City of Lower Hutt; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be incorporated and added to the consolidated special rate made pursuant to the provisions of section 108A of the Municipal Corporations Act 1954, and be payable yearly on or about the 1st day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of 10 years, or until such time as the loan is paid off.”
