Exemption Order Under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1964
PURSUANT to the Motor Drivers Regulations 1964
, the
Minister of Transport hereby orders and declares that the
provisions of clause (1) of regulation 16 of the said regulations
so far as they relate to the driving of heavy trade motors
shall not apply to the person hereinafter mentioned, but in lieu thereof the following provisions shall apply:
A motor driver's licence issued under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1964 to the person described in column 1 of the Schedule hereunder may authorise him to drive a heavy trade motor in the course of his employment for the employer described in column 2 of the said Schedule, but shall not authorise him, while he is under the age of 18 years, to drive a heavy trade motor for any other purpose.

PURSUANT to the Motor Drivers Regulations 1964, the
Minister of Transport hereby orders and declares that the
provisions of clause (1) of regulation 16 of the said regulations so far as they relate to the driving of heavy trade motors shall not apply to the person hereinafter mentioned, but in lieu thereof the following provisions shall apply:

Closely Populated Locality and Limited Speed Zones Declared
PURSUANT to the Transport Act 1962, the Minister of Transport hereby gives notice as follows:

  1. The Warrant, under regulation 27 of the Traffic Regulations 1956*, dated the 12th day of June 1958†, which relates to No. 2 State Highway (Pokeno-Wellington via Gisborne) and the Akatarawa Road in Hutt County, is hereby revoked.
  2. The area described in the First Schedule hereto is hereby declared to be a closely populated locality for the purposes of section 52 of the Transport Act 1962.
  3. The areas described in the Second Schedule hereto are hereby declared to be limited speed zones, for the purposes of the Traffic Regulations 1956*.
    FIRST SCHEDULE
    SITUATED within Hutt County, adjacent to Upper Hutt City:
    All that area bounded by a line commencing at a point being the intersection of the north-western side of the No. 2 State Highway (Pokeno-Wellington via Gisborne) and the eastern boundary of Upper Hutt City; thence proceeding in a north-easterly direction generally along the north-western side of the said highway, across Kashmir Avenue, Clouston Park Road, and the north-eastern end of Clouston Park Road, to a point opposite the western side of Montgomery Road; thence due north along a right line to a point on the left bank of the Hutt River; thence westerly generally along the said left bank of the Hutt River to the eastern boundary of Upper Hutt City; thence southerly generally along the eastern boundary of Upper Hutt City to the commencing point. The boundary of the whole area being further indicated in red on the plan marked T.T. 4007 and deposited in the Head Office of the Transport Department, Wellington.
