Altering the Boundaries of the Westland Catchment District

ORDER IN COUNCIL

At the Government House at Wellington this 10th day of August 1966

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to the Soil Conservation and Rivers Control Act 1941, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby alters the boundaries of the Westland Catchment District, as constituted by Order in Council dated the 13th day of December 1944, published in Gazette, 14 December 1944, Vol. III, page 1504, as amended by Order in Council dated the 9th day of September 1953, published in Gazette, 10 September 1953, Vol. III, page 1472, and amended by Order in Council dated the 31st day of August 1960, published in Gazette, 1 September 1960, No. 56, page 1306, and further amended by Order in Council dated the 18th day of August 1965, and published in Gazette, 19 August 1965, No. 45, page 1323, by including therein the land described in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE

ALL that area in the Buller Land District, Waimea County, containing 174,800 acres, more or less, bounded by a line starting at a point one mile to the west of Mount Cann, on the boundary between the Inangahua and Waimea Counties; thence proceeding in a northerly direction along the ridge between the Maruia and the Glenroy-Matakitaki Rivers’ catchments to Trig Station B on the boundary with Blocks VIII and IV of the Maruia Survey District; thence westerly along this block boundary to Trig Station 11; thence in a northerly direction along the western boundaries of Section 9, part Section 7, and Section 3 to the point where it intersects the Maruia-Lyell Survey District boundary; thence following the survey district boundary in a westerly direction to where it meets the centre of the Buller River at this boundary’s intersection with the boundary between Blocks XV and XVI, Lyell Survey District; thence northerly to the intersection of Blocks XI, XII, XV, and XVI, Lyell Survey District; thence north-easterly to meet the boundary between the Buller and Waimea Counties at the junction of Blocks XIX and XX, Marina Survey District, and Block VIII, Lyell Survey District; thence generally south-westerly following the Murchison and Buller County boundary to its junction with the Inangahua County boundary; thence returning to the starting point generally south-easterly along the boundary between the Inangahua and Waimea Counties.

Setting Apart Maori Freehold Land as a Maori Reservation

ORDER IN COUNCIL

At the Government House at Wellington this 10th day of August 1966

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to section 439 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby sets apart the Maori freehold lands described in the Schedule hereto as a Maori reservation for a marae reserve for the common use and benefit of the Ngati Hauaroa tribe.
