ORDER

  1. This order may be cited as the Horowhenua College Board of Governors Order 1966.

  2. The Board of Governors of Horowhenua College shall be constituted as follows:

(a) One member appointed by the Wellington Education Board;

(b) Two members elected by the members of the school committees of the Koputaroa State primary school, the Levin State primary school, the Levin East State primary school, the Levin North State primary school, the Muhunoa East State primary school, the Ohau State primary school, the Poroutawhao State primary school, and the Shannon State primary school;

(c) Five members elected by the parents of the pupils attending the school, of which members at least one shall be a woman;

(d) One member elected by the Levin Borough Council and the Horowhenua County Council;

(e) One member appointed by the Old Pupils’ Association of the school;

(f) One member to be co-opted by the Board of Governors itself, if and when it thinks fit.

  1. The Minister of Education may from time to time, by notice in the Gazette, amend the list of schools to which paragraph (b) in clause 2 of this order applies.

  2. The Order in Council made on the 1st day of February 1961*, constituting the Board of Managers of Horowhenua College, is hereby revoked.

PURSUANT to section 15 of the Royal New Zealand Air Force Act 1950, His Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to approve the following appointments, promotions, terminations of commissions, extensions of commissions, and retirement of officers of the Royal New Zealand Air Force.

GENERAL DUTIES BRANCH

Appointment to Career Commission

Flight Lieutenant John William Lodder Meredith (78397) is appointed to a career commission for a period ending 31 December 1978.

Amendment

The notice published in Gazette, 21 July 1966, No. 43, page 1130, relating to Acting Pilot Officer Trevor David Mallard, is hereby amended to read “Trevor David Mollard” instead of “Trevor David Mallard.”

Flying Officer John Gary Ross, GRAD. R.AE.S. (79378) to be Flight Lieutenant, with seniority from 21 October 1964, with effect from 17 July 1966.

Appointments

John McDonald Nimmo, B.A., is granted a commission in the Air Training Corps in the rank of Pilot Officer for a period ending 6 July 1970, with seniority and effect from 7 July 1966.

Gerald Anthony Williams, B.SC., is granted a commission in the Air Training Corps in the rank of Pilot Officer for a period ending 10 July 1970, with seniority and effect from 11 July 1966.

Terminations of Commissions

The commissions of the under-mentioned officers are terminated, with effect from the date shown:

Pilot Officer James Robert Blackett, 12 January 1966.

Pilot Officer Thomas Henry Sylvester Withey, 14 July 1966.

RESERVE OF AIR FORCE OFFICERS

Extensions of Commissions

Squadron Leader John Henry Bond, A.M.N.Z.I.E. (130310), is granted an extension of his commission until 11 July 1968.

Flight Lieutenant Francis Potter (76270) is granted an extension of his commission until 18 December 1967.

Retirement

Flight Lieutenant (temp.) Warwick Anthony Batten (920725) is retired, with effect from 9 January 1966.

Appointment of South Taranaki Free Kindergarten Association (Patea Branch) to Control and Manage a Reserve


PURSUANT to the Reserves and Domains Act 1953, the Minister of Lands hereby appoints the South Taranaki Free Kindergarten Association (Patea Branch) to control and manage the reserve described in the Schedule hereto, subject to the provisions of the said Act, as a reserve for education (pre-school) purposes.

PURSUANT to the Reserves and Domains Act 1953, the Minister of Lands hereby appoints the Grey County Council and the Greymouth Borough Council to control and manage the reserve described in the Schedule hereto, subject to the provisions of the said Act, as a reserve for scenic purposes.

WESTLAND LAND DISTRICT—ARORANGI SCENIC RESERVE—GREY COUNTY

RESERVE 2100 (formerly Reserve 985, Reserve 273, and part Rural Section 3428) situated in Block XVI, Greymouth Survey District: Area, 206 acres and 25·5 perches, more or less (S.O. Plan 5222).

PURSUANT to the Reserves and Domains Act 1953, the Minister of Lands hereby appoints a member of the Hawke’s Bay Branch of the Royal Society of New Zealand Incorporated, ex officio (to be appointed in that behalf by the Branch), to be a member of the Cape Kidnapper Bird Sanctuary Board in place of the President of the Hawke’s Bay Branch of the Royal Society of New Zealand, ex officio.
