Exemption of Carryall Scrapers in Trailer Form From the Usual Service Brake Requirements

PURSUANT to regulation 25A of the Traffic Regulations 1956,* the Commissioner of Transport hereby exempts carryall scrapers in trailer form from the requirement of regulation 42 (6) of the said regulations relating to the fitting of service brakes.

Classification of Roads in Southland County
———
PURSUANT to regulation 3 of the Heavy Motor Vehicles Regulations 1955,* the Commissioner of Transport hereby revokes the Warrants dated the 11th day of August 1964†, the 27th day of February 1961‡, the 22nd day of May 1951§, the 13th day of July 1950∥, which relate to the classification of roads in Southland County, and hereby approves the Southland County Council’s proposed classification of roads as set out in the Schedules hereto.

SOUTHLAND COUNTY
Roads Classified in Class One
ALL roads under the control of the Southland County Council with the exception of those roads set out in the Second Schedule hereto.

Roads Classified in Class Two
Wallacetown Riding—
Otatara (from Bay Road to Dunns Road), Marama Avenue North (from Dunns Road to end of gravel), Marama Avenue South (from Dunns Road to Bryson Road), Bryson (from Marama Avenue to Grant Road), Grant (from Bryson Road to Watt Road), Watt (from Grant Road to Black Road), Black (from Watt Road to Dunns Road), Oreti (from Dunns Road to Vyner Road), Vyner (from Oreti Road to Dunns Road).
Waihopai Riding—

ALL country roads under the control of the Southland County Council west of the No. 1 State Highway (Awanui-Bluff) and the New River Estuary lying south of the line of the West Plains Road produced in a westerly direction to the sea but not including West Plains Road and all those county roads south of the No. 92 State Highway (Balclutha-Invercargill), between the New River Estuary and the sea and the Mataura River near Fortrose, except Dunns Road, from the Invercargill City boundary to the sea and also except those roads classified in Class Two.

Releasing Land From the Provisions of Part XXIV of the Maori Affairs Act 1953 (Maniapoto Development Scheme)

PURSUANT to section 332 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, the Board of Maori Affairs hereby declares that, on the date of the publication of this notice in the Gazette, the land described in the Schedule hereto shall cease to be subject to the provisions of Part XXIV of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, the said land being so subject by virtue of a notice dated 6 August 1940, published in the Gazette, 8 August 1940, No. 82, Volume II, page 1874, and registered as No. K. 25850.
