Declaring Whale Island in the Bay of Plenty to be a Wildlife
Refuge

A PROCLAMATION

PURSUANT to section 14 of the Wildlife Act 1953, I, Major-
General the Right Honourable Sir Harold Eric Barrowclough,
the Administrator of the Government of New Zealand, hereby
proclaim and declare the area described in the Schedule hereto
to be a Wildlife Refuge in the Bay of Plenty, for the purpose
of the Wildlife Act 1953.

SCHEDULE

WHALE or Motuhora Island situated in the Bay of Plenty:
Area, 354 acres, more or less; comprised in certificate of title,
Volume 763, folio 11 (limited as to parcels) (M.L. 257).

As shown on plan numbered I.A. 46/29/34 and deposited in
the Head Office, Department of Internal Affairs at Wellington,
and thereon edged in red.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Administrator
of the Government, and issued under the Seal of New
Zealand, this 6th day of September 1965.

PURSUANT to the Public Works Act 1928, I, Major-General the
Right Honourable Sir Harold Eric Barrowclough, the Adminis-
trator of the Government of New Zealand, hereby proclaim
and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto is
hereby taken for road; and I also declare that this Proclamation
shall take effect on and after the 13th day of September 1965.
