Appointment of Member and Chairman of Post Office Staff Tribunal

PURSUANT to section 201 (1) of the Post Office Act 1959, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, and on the recommendation of the Postmaster-General, hereby appoints
Henry James Thompson
to be a member of the Post Office Staff Tribunal and the Chairman thereof, to hold office for a term of three years from the date of this appointment.

Wanganui Savings Bank Order 1963, Amendment No. 1

HIS EXCELLENCY THE ADMINISTRATOR OF THE GOVERNMENT IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to the Trustee Savings Banks Act 1948, His Excellency the Administrator of the Government, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.

ORDER

  1. This order may be cited as the Wanganui Savings Bank Order 1963, Amendment No. 1, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Wanganui Savings Bank Order 1963* (hereinafter referred to as the principal order).
  2. The principal order is hereby amended by revoking clause 11, and substituting the following clause:
    “11. Investments—(1) Notwithstanding anything in section 24 of the Act, but subject to subsections (4A) and (5) thereof and to subclause (2) of this clause, the Bank may invest any money deposited in or belonging to the Bank in the following manner only:
    “(a) Where the total amount of such money (excluding money deposited in investment accounts) does not exceed £1,000,000, not less than 90 per cent thereof shall be invested in New Zealand Government securities:
    “(b) Where the total amount of such last-described money exceeds £1,000,000, not less than £900,000 thereof together with not less than 50 per cent of so much thereof as exceeds £1,000,000 shall be invested in New Zealand Government securities:
    “(c) Any amount not so invested in New Zealand Government securities (excluding the amount required by section 24 (3) of the Act to be kept immediately available) may be invested in any of the ways specified in section 24 (1) of the Act.
    “(2) Notwithstanding the provisions of subsection (5) of section 24 of the Act, money invested under paragraph (c) of subclause (1) of this clause on mortgages of estates or interests in land occupied or to be occupied by officers of the Bank for residential purposes shall be invested on such terms and conditions as the Minister may approve in writing.”

Directing the Revision of District Valuation Rolls

PURSUANT to the Valuation of Land Act 1951, His Excellency the Administrator of the Government, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby directs that the District Valuation Rolls for the districts enumerated in the Schedule hereto shall be revised by the Valuer-General as at 1 August 1965.

Alteration and Redefinition of Boundaries of Upper Pareora Rabbit District (Notice No. Ag. 8216)

HIS EXCELLENCY THE ADMINISTRATOR OF THE GOVERNMENT IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to the Rabbits Act 1955, His Excellency the Administrator of the Government, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.

ORDER

  1. (1) This order may be cited as the Upper Pareora Rabbit District Order 1965.
    (2) This order shall come into force on the day after the date of its notification in the Gazette.
  2. The boundaries of the Upper Pareora Rabbit District, which was constituted by Order in Council on the 16th day of June 1943,* are hereby altered and redefined and, as from the commencement of this order, the boundaries of the said district shall be those specified in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE

BOUNDARIES OF THE UPPER PAREORA RABBIT DISTRICT
ALL that area in the Counties of Waimate, Mackenzie, and Levels and the City of Timaru, Canterbury Land District, containing 198,868 acres, more or less, bounded by a line commencing at a point on the sea coast in line with the middle of a road forming the southern boundary of part Lot 111, D.P. 467, and Lot I, D.P. 3774, Block IV, Patiti Survey District; thence north-westerly generally to and along the middle lines of that road, No. 1 State Highway, and Pareora Main Road to a point in line with the north-western boundary of Section 4, Pareora No. 1 Settlement; thence south-westerly to and along the north-western boundaries of Sections 4, 3, 2, and 1 of the aforesaid settlement and south-easterly along the south-western boundary of the last-mentioned section, and its production to the middle of O’Briens Road; thence westerly along the middle of that road to and north-easterly along the middle of Talbots Road, and its production to the middle of Pleasant Valley Road; thence westerly generally along the middle lines of Pleasant Valley Road, Cairds Road, Andersons Road, to and along the north-eastern and north-western boundaries of part Section 1, Pareora No. 2 Settlement, and its production to the northern boundary
