ALL that piece of road containing 2 roods 21 perches situated
in Blocks XIII and XIV, Mount Robinson Survey District,

D.P. 872, as the same is more particularly delineated on the
plan marked M.O.W. 19405 (S.O. 24471), deposited in the
office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon
coloured green.

Authorising Harry Ward Lanauze, Garage Proprietor of
Waitangi, Chatham Island, to Erect and Use Certain
Electric Lines

At the Government Buildings at Wellington this 16th day of
June 1965
Present:
THE HON. J. R. MARSHALL, PRESIDING IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to the Public Works Act 1928, His Excellency the
Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent
of the Executive Council, hereby authorises Harry Ward
Lanauze (hereinafter referred to as the licensee), subject to
the conditions hereinafter set forth, to lay, construct, put
up, place, and use the electric lines described in the Schedule
hereto.
CONDITIONS
IMPLIED CONDITIONS
- The conditions directed to be implied in all licences by
the Electrical Supply Regulations 1935 and the Electrical
Wiring Regulations 1961 shall be incorporated in and shall
form part of this licence, except in so far as the same may
be inconsistent with the provisions hereof.
LICENCE SUBJECT TO REGULATIONS
- This licence is issued under the Electrical Supply Regu-
lations 1935, and is subject thereto, and to the Electrical Wiring
Regulations 1961, the Radio Interference Regulations 1958,
and to all regulations hereafter made in amendment thereof
or in substitution therefor respectively.
SYSTEM OF SUPPLY
- The system of supply shall be as described in paragraph
(d) of regulation 21-01 of the Electrical Supply Regulations
1935 and shall be an alternating current system.
DURATION OF LICENCE
- Unless sooner lawfully determined this licence shall con-
tinue in force until the 31st day of March 1986.
SCHEDULE
LINES for the supply of electrical energy by the system of
supply hereinbefore described, commencing from the licensee’s
generating plant and proceeding in a north-westerly direction
to the licensee’s garage and thence as follows:
(a) In a northerly direction to two petrol pumps;
(b) In a north-westerly direction by underground cable
across a road to a dwelling.
All being situated in Block III, Oropuke Survey District,
in the County of Chatham Island, the said lines and buildings
being more particularly shown on the plan marked N.Z.E.D.
653 deposited in the office of the New Zealand Electricity
Department at Wellington.

Authorising the Purchase by the Thames Valley Electric
Power Board of Certain Electric Works from the New
Zealand Electricity Department

At the Government Buildings at Wellington this 16th day of
June 1965

THE HON. J. R. MARSHALL, PRESIDING IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to section 76 of the Electric Power Boards Act 1925,
His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with
the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby
authorises the purchase by the Thames Valley Electric Power
Board from the New Zealand Electricity Department of the
electric works described in the Schedule hereto for the sum
of £21,250.
SCHEDULE
THE Department’s Matamata Substation consisting of a two-
bay steel structure, switchroom building, and all associated
equipment (excluding only 2-5 MVA, 50/11 kV transformer
banks), and two dwellinghouses for housing staff associated
therewith.

Authorising Robert William Gardiner Thorpe, of Clifton,
Takaka, Farmer, to Use Water for the Purpose of
Generating Electricity

THE HON. J. R. MARSHALL, PRESIDING IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to the Public Works Act 1928, His Excellency the
Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent
of the Executive Council, hereby grants Robert William
Gardiner Thorpe, of Clifton, Takaka, farmer (hereinafter
referred to as the licensee), a licence, subject to the conditions
hereinafter set forth, to take and use from Ellis Creek (here-
inafter referred to as the said stream), situated in Section
154, Block VII, Waitapu Survey District, for the purpose
hereinafter set forth, a stream of water not exceeding 1½ cu. ft.
per second at any one time.
CONDITIONS

the Water Power Regulations 1934 and the Electrical Supply
Regulations 1935 shall be incorporated in and shall form
part of this licence, except in so far as the same may be
inconsistent with the provisions hereof.
- LICENCES SUBJECT TO REGULATIONS
This licence is issued under the Water Power Regulations
1934 and is subject thereto, and to the Electric Supply
Regulations 1935, and the Electrical Wiring Regulations 1961,
the Radio Interference Regulations 1958, and to all regula-
tions hereafter made in amendment thereof or in substitution
therefor respectively.
- UTILISATION OF WATER AND LOCATION OF HEAD WORKS
Water shall be used solely for the purpose of generating
electricity and shall be taken from the said stream at a point
in Section 154, Block VII, Waitapu Survey District, indicated
on the plan marked N.Z.E.D. 668, deposited in the office of
the New Zealand Electricity Department at Wellington.
- GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF WORKS
The licensee is hereby authorised, subject to the conditions
hereof, to construct, maintain, and use the following works
for the purposes of this licence, the positions of the said
works being indicated on the said plan N.Z.E.D. 668:
(a) Headworks consisting of a dam and intake and pipe-
line leading to the Pelton wheel and powerhouse
hereinafter referred to, giving a static head of approxi-
mately 70 ft.
(b) A powerhouse with all the necessary equipment for
generating electricity.
(c) Tail race leading from the said powerhouse back to the
said stream.
- DURATION OF LICENCE
Unless sooner determined, this licence shall continue in
force until the 31st day of March 1986.
- SYSTEM OF SUPPLY
The system of supply shall be as described in paragraph (d)
of clause 21-01 of the Electrical Supply Regulations 1935.
The generating and transmission voltages shall be approxi-
mately 230 volts direct current.
- RENTAL
For the purpose of assessing the rental or annual sum
payable in respect of this licence, the present plant is rated
at 7 kilowatts.
- NO RIGHT TO WATER CONFERRED
Nothing in this licence shall of itself confer upon the
licensee any right to water.
