WAITEMATA COUNTY COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
———
Orewa Water Supply Loan 1964, £105,000

PURSUANT to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Waitemata County Council resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing the annual charges on the loan of £105,000 authorised to be raised by the Waitemata County Council under the Local Bodies Loans Act 1956 for the purpose of providing water supply reticulation within the Orewa County Town together with all costs incidental thereto, the Waitemata County Council hereby makes a special rate of 1·64d. (one point six four pence) in the £ on the rateable unimproved value of all rateable property within the Orewa County Town; and further resolves that the special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of the loan and repayable yearly on the 1st day of June in each and every year during the currency of the loan, being a period of 30 (thirty) years, or until the loan is fully paid off, further, that the County Clerk be authorised to Gazette the resolution.”

I hereby certify that the above is a true and correct copy of a resolution passed by the Waitemata County Council on the 25th day of March 1965.

GERALDINE COUNTY COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
———

PURSUANT to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Geraldine County Council hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing the annual charges on a loan of fifteen thousand pounds (£15,000) authorised to be raised by the Geraldine County Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of making advances to farmers in terms of the Rural Housing Act 1939, the Geraldine County Council hereby makes a special rate of decimal zero two two (0·022d.) in the £ upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the County of Geraldine, comprising the whole of the Geraldine County; and that the special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of the loan and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of April and the 1st day of October in each and every year during the currency of the loan, being a period of twenty-five (25) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

The above resolution was duly passed by the Geraldine County Council at a special meeting held on the 5th day of April 1965.

KAIAPOI BOROUGH COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
———

THAT in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies Loans Act 1956, the Kaiapoi Borough Council hereby resolves:

“That, for the purpose of securing the interest and other charges on a loan of twenty-three thousand five hundred pounds (£23,500) authorised to be raised by the Kaiapoi Borough Council for the purpose of repaying portion of the debentures maturing in the Sewerage Loan 1952 (part 4), the said Kaiapoi Borough Council hereby makes a special rate of decimal eight two nine pence (0·829d.) in the pound on the unimproved rateable value of all rateable property in the borough; also that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable half-yearly on the 27th day of April and the 27th day of October in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of ten (10) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

I hereby certify that the above resolution was passed at a properly constituted meeting of the Kaiapoi Borough Council held on Tuesday the 6th day of April 1965.

GLEN EDEN BOROUGH COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
———

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Glen Eden Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £3,000 authorised to be raised by the Glen Eden Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act for purchase of fire appliance, the said Glen Eden Borough Council hereby makes a special rate of one-twelfth pence (¹⁄₁₂d.) in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Borough of Glen Eden, with the intention that the special rate mentioned be not levied but the annual charges in respect of the loan be met from the Fire Services Account as provided for in the estimates of the Glen Eden Urban Fire Authority during the currency of the loan, being a period of 10 years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

The foregoing resolution was passed at a duly constituted meeting of the Glen Eden Borough Council held on the 22nd day of September 1964.

WHAKATANE COUNTY COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Taneatua Township Water Supply Loan 1964, £18,000

PURSUANT to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Whakatane County Council hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing the annual charges on a loan of £18,000 authorised to be raised by the Whakatane County Council under the above-mentioned Act for providing water reticulation to part of the Township of Taneatua for which a special roll was prepared for this purpose, the said Whakatane County Council hereby makes a special rate of seven decimal three pence (7·3d.) in the pound (£) upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Taneatua Township Water Supply District; and that the special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of the loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of the loan, being a period of 25 years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

The above resolution was duly passed at a meeting of the Whakatane County Council on Tuesday, 23 March 1965.

LEVIN BOROUGH COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Development Loan 1965, £54,000

RESOLVED pursuant to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Levin Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing annual charges on a loan of fifty-four thousand pounds (£54,000) authorised to be raised by the Levin Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of purchasing land for commercial development purposes, the said Levin Borough Council hereby makes a special rate of one hundred and forty-eight four hundredths of a penny (1⁴⁸⁄₄₀₀d.) in the pound to be levied on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property within the Borough of Levin; and that the special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of the loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of the loan, being a period of 30 years or until the loan is fully paid off.”

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND

IN the matter of the Public Works Act 1928 and in the matter of the Municipal Corporations Act 1954, whereas it is provided by section 327 of the Municipal Corporations Act 1954, that the council from time to time may purchase or may take or otherwise acquire as for public works under the Public Works Act 1928, any area or areas of land within the district for housing purposes, and whereas it is provided by section 163 of the Municipal Corporations Act 1954 as follows:

“The council shall have power to take in the manner provided by the Public Works Act 1928, or purchase or otherwise acquire and hold any land whether within or without the city which may be necessary or convenient for the purposes of or in connection with any public work which the council is empowered to undertake construct or provide or for carrying out any of the purposes of this Act.”
