RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Redemption Loan No. 23, 1964, £71,500

THAT, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Municipal Corporations Act 1954 and amendments, the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956 and amendment, and regulations thereunder, and of all other powers thereunto enabling it, the Auckland City Council hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing interest and other charges on a loan of seventy-one thousand five hundred pounds (£71,500) to be known as the Redemption Loan No. 23, 1964, £71,500, which amount is proposed to be raised by the Auckland City Council under the above-mentioned Acts for the purpose of repaying on maturity that portion of the Waterworks Loan 1953, £333,000, which matures on 21 February 1965, and the cost of raising the loan, the said Auckland City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of two-fifteenths of one penny (2/15 of 1d.) in the pound (£) on the rateable value (on the basis of the annual value) of all rateable property of Auckland City comprising the whole of the City of Auckland; and that the said special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and shall be payable yearly on the 1st day of June in each and every year during the currency of the said loan or until the loan is fully paid off.”

CHRISTCHURCH-LYTTELTON ROAD TUNNEL AUTHORITY

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND

IN the matter of the Public Works Act 1928 and in the matter of the Christchurch-Lyttelton Road Tunnel Act 1956, notice is hereby given that the Christchurch-Lyttelton Road Tunnel Authority, a body corporate constituted by the Christchurch-Lyttelton Road Tunnel Act 1956, is executing a public work, namely, the construction of a tunnel through the Port Hills between Lyttelton and Heathcote, and for the purpose of such public work so much of the subsoil of the lands mentioned in the First Schedule hereto as is described in the Second Schedule hereto is required to be taken, and notice is hereby further given that plans showing the lands required to be taken are deposited at the office of F. G. K. Gilchrist, Esquire, Secretary of the Christchurch-Lyttelton Road Tunnel Authority, 141 Hereford Street, Christchurch, and at the office of the Lyttelton Borough Council, Lyttelton, and are there open for inspection, without fee, by all persons during ordinary office hours, and that every person affected, if he has any objection to the execution of such work or the taking of the subsoil of such land, not being an objection to the amount or payment of compensation, shall set forth in writing such objection and send such writing within 40 days from the first publication of this notice addressed to the Secretary of the Christchurch-Lyttelton Road Tunnel Authority.

FIRST SCHEDULE

All being situated in the Borough of Lyttelton.

SECOND SCHEDULE

ALL that portion of the subsoil of the lands described in the First Schedule situated beneath a plane 10 ft in vertical height above the centre line of the roof of the tunnel as shown on Survey Office Plan No. 10218.
