A PROCLAMATION

PURSUANT to section 29 of the Public Works Amendment Act 1948, I, Brigadier Sir Bernard Edward Fergusson, Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby proclaim as road the land described in the First Schedule hereto; and I also hereby proclaim as closed the road described in the Second Schedule hereto and declare that the said road when closed shall vest in Edmund Michael O’Connell, of Mabel Bush, farmer, subject to memorandum of mortgage No. 152024, Southland Land Registry; and I also hereby take the land described in the Third Schedule hereto for the purpose of subsection (6) of the said section 29 and declare that it shall vest in the said Edmund Michael O’Connell, subject to memorandum of mortgage No. 152024, Southland Land Registry.

PURSUANT to the Trustee Savings Banks Act 1948, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.

ORDER

  1. This order may be cited as the Canterbury Savings Bank Order 1962, Amendment No. 3, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Canterbury Savings Bank Order 1962* (hereinafter referred to as the principal order).

  2. (1) The principal order is hereby amended by revoking clause 11 (as substituted by clause 2 of the Canterbury Savings Bank Order 1962, Amendment No. 2).

(2) The Canterbury Savings Bank Order 1962, Amendment No. 2, is hereby revoked.

Setting Apart Maori Freehold Land as a Maori Reservation

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to section 439 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby sets apart the Maori freehold land described in the Schedule hereto as a Maori reservation for the purpose of a burial ground for the common use and benefit of the members of the Ikaunahi and Ngati Hounuku sub-tribes.

Special Provision Touching the Election of a Member to the Aupouri Maori Trust Board

ORDER IN COUNCIL

At the Government House at Wellington this 26th day of August 1964

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to section 55 of the Maori Trust Boards Act 1955, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, and being satisfied that sufficient provision is not made by or under Part III of the said Act to meet the circumstances where two candidates, namely Ngatote Matiu and Andrew Murray, each, according to a certain declaration made by the returning officer on the 11th day of August 1964, received the same number of votes (such number being the next highest number of votes validly cast to those received by five successful candidates) in the election held for the appointment of six members of the Aupouri Maori Trust Board to represent the Te Kao division of the beneficiaries, doth hereby make the following provision for the case, that is to say:

(1) The returning officer shall determine, by lot, which of the two candidates, Ngatote Matiu and Andrew Murray, shall be deemed to have been elected.

(2) Each of the two candidates aforesaid shall be entitled to appoint one scrutineer to be present when the said determination is made by the returning officer.
