RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
PURSUANT to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the
Ashburton Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:
“That, for the purpose of providing the annual charge on
the Tinwald Water Reticulation Loan 1963, £45,000 authorised
to be raised by the Ashburton Borough Council under the
above-mentioned Act for the purpose of installing further
water reticulation in the Borough, the Ashburton Borough
Council hereby makes a special rate of £0.000999 in the pound
upon the rateable value of all rateable property in the
Borough of Ashburton; and that the special rate shall be an
annually recurring rate during the currency of the loan and
be payable yearly on 1 April in each and every year
during the currency of the loan, being for a period of 10 years,
or until the loan is fully paid off.”

MANAWATU CATCHMENT BOARD
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
Lower Manawatu Scheme Classified Special Area
THAT, pursuant to section 47 of the Local Authorities Loans
Act 1956, and sections 90 and 102 of the Soil Conservation
and Rivers Control Act 1941, for the purpose of providing
the annual charges on a loan of £35,000 being the Lower
Manawatu Scheme Loan 1963 (£35,000), authorised to be
raised by the Manawatu Catchment Board for the carrying
out of the works of the Lower Manawatu Scheme, the
Manawatu Catchment Board hereby makes and levies a special
rate of:
0.104 pence in the pound on Class A land,
0.069 pence in the pound on Class B land,
0.035 pence in the pound on Class C land,
0.017 pence in the pound on Class D land,
0.007 pence in the pound on Class E land,
0.0026 pence in the pound on Class F land,
on the rateable capital value of all rateable property of
the Lower Manawatu Scheme Area in accordance with the
Classification List of the Area, and such rate shall be adjusted
as required by section 4B of the Valuation Equalisation Act
1957, and shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency
of the loan or until the loan is fully paid off and shall
be payable in one sum on the 1st day of July in each and
every year during the currency of the loan.
The above resolution was passed by the Manawatu Catch-
ment Board at its meeting held on 18 August 1963.

BRUCE COUNTY COUNCIL
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
Rural Housing Loan 1964, £50,000
PURSUANT to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Bruce
County Council hereby resolves as follows:
“That, for the purpose of providing the annual charges on
a loan of £50,000 authorised to be raised by the Bruce County
Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of
making advances to farmers in terms of the Rural Housing
Act 1939, the council hereby makes a special rate of one
thirty-sixth (1/36) of a penny in the pound upon the rateable
value of all rateable property in the County of Bruce, and
that the rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the
currency of the loan and be payable half-yearly as the payments
fall due in each and every half year during the
currency of the loan, being a period of 30 years, or until the
loan is fully paid off.”

VARIATION IN APPOINTMENT OF MANAGING RATEPAYERS—

Notice is hereby given that at a meeting of the Kairanga
County Council held on Tuesday, 11 August 1964, the
following resolution was passed:
“That, the special order passed by the Kairanga County
Council on 19 January 1932, appointing managing rate-
payers of the Fitzherbert West Water Race District, and
amended by resolution of the Council on 12 October 1937,
9 October 1944, 10 May 1949, 10 March 1953, 11 May 1954,
28 February 1961, and 8 March 1962, be further amended on
account of a vacancy occurring on the Committee by the
resignation of John Walter Robert, by the appointment
thereon of Malcolm Mexted Greer, as his successor, the
members of the said Committee being now as hereunder:

NOTICE OF RESULT OF POLL ON LOAN PROPOSAL
Pursuant to section 38 of the Local Authorities Loans Act
1956, notice is hereby given that a poll of the ratepayers of
the Porewa Valley Control Scheme District and Special
Rating Area taken on 6 August 1964, on the proposal of the
above-named local authority to raise a loan of £35,000 to
be known as the Porewa Valley Control Scheme Loan 1964
for the purpose of building detention dams, improving
waterways, etc. on the Porewa Stream and tributaries resulted
as follows:
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 203
The number of votes recorded against the proposal was 175
The number of informal votes was Nil
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND
In the matter of the Public Works Act 1928 and its amend-
ments, and in the matter of the Harbours Act 1950 and its
amendments, and in the matter of the Auckland Harbour
Board Loan and Empowering Act 1963, notice is hereby
given that the Auckland Harbour Board proposes by virtue of
the above-mentioned Acts and of all other acts and powers
it thereunto enabling, to execute a public work, to wit, the
development and redevelopment of the lands vested in the
Board and described in the Fourth Schedule to the above
last-mentioned Act as referred to in the Second Schedule
thereto; and for the purposes of such public work the Board
requires to take the leasehold interest under memorandum
of lease 20517A, in the land more particularly described in the
Schedule hereto; and notice is hereby given that a plan of
the land affected by the said leasehold interest required to be
taken is deposited at the offices of the Board, Quay Street,
Auckland, and is there open for inspection during ordinary
office hours; and notice is hereby given that all persons
affected should set forth in writing any objection they may wish
to make to the execution of the works or to the taking of the
said interest in the said land, not being an objection to the
amount or payment of compensation, and should send such
written objection within 40 days of the first publication of
this notice to the Auckland Harbour Board at its offices situated
as aforesaid.
