Closely Populated Locality Declared

PURSUANT to the Transport Act 1962, the Minister of Transport hereby gives notice as follows:

1. That the Warrant under section 36 of the Transport Act 1949 dated the 13th day of November 1956* which relates to Kelston West in Waitemata County is hereby revoked.

2. The area specified in the Schedule hereto is hereby declared to be a closely populated locality for the purposes of section 52 of the Transport Act 1962.

SITUATED within Waitemata County:

All that area at Kelston bounded by a line commencing at a point where the northern boundary of Glen Eden Borough meets the north-western side of Sabulite Road; thence along that roadside and its prolongation to the bank of the Wairau Creek; thence along the banks of the Wairau Creek and Whau River to the northern boundary of New Lynn Borough; thence along the north-western boundary of New Lynn Borough and the northern boundary of Glen Eden Borough to the commencing point.

Exemption Order Under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940

PURSUANT to the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940,* the Minister of Transport hereby orders and declares that the provisions of clause (1) of regulation 7 of the said regulations so far as they relate to the driving of heavy trade motors shall not apply to the persons hereinafter mentioned, but in lieu thereof the following provisions shall apply:

A motor driver’s licence issued under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940* to the persons described in column 1 of the Schedule hereunder may authorise them to drive a heavy trade motor in the course of their employment for the employers described in column 2 of the said Schedule, but shall not authorise them, while they are under the age of 18 years, to drive a heavy trade motor for any other purpose.

Additional Land Near Toiro Taken for the Purposes of the Waitaki-Bluff Railway

PURSUANT to the Public Works Act 1928, the Minister of Railways hereby declares that, a sufficient agreement to that effect having been entered into, the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purposes of the Waitaki-Bluff Railway from and after the 29th day of June 1964.

Declaration That Land is a Public Reserve

PURSUANT to the Reserves and Domains Act 1953, the Minister of Lands hereby notifies that the following resolution was passed by the Oamaru Borough Council on the 19th day of May 1964:

“That, in the exercise of the powers conferred on it by section 13 of the Reserves and Domains Act 1953, the Oamaru Borough Council hereby resolves that the piece of land held by the Mayor, Councillors, and Citizens of the said borough in fee simple and described in the Schedule hereto shall be and the same is hereby declared to be a public reserve for public health and recreation purposes within the meaning of the said Act.”

PURSUANT to the Reserves and Domains Act 1953, the Minister of Lands hereby declares that those parts of the public domains described in the Schedule hereto shall cease to be subject to the provisions of Part III of the Reserves and Domains Act 1953, and shall be deemed to be recreation reserves subject to Part II of the said Act, and further, revokes the reservation for recreation purposes over the said reserves.
