AKAROA COUNTY COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Counties Act 1956, the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, and all amendments thereto, the Akaroa County Council hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £5,780 authorised to be raised by the Akaroa County Council under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts for the purpose of erecting two bridges and approaches at Stoney Bay West and Main Road, Wainui, the said Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one forty-ninth of a penny (1/49d.) in the pound on the rateable value of all the rateable property (on the basis of the capital value appearing in the valuation roll for the time being in force) within the County of Akaroa; and that such rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of the said loan and shall be payable on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of the said loan, being for a period of 30 years or until such time as the loan is wholly repaid.”

HOKITIKA BOROUGH COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

PURSUANT to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Hokitika Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing the annual charges on a loan of eight thousand seven hundred pounds (£8,700) authorised to be raised by the Hokitika Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of repaying on maturity that portion of the Supplementary Waterworks Loan 1952 which matures on 15 April 1964, the said Hokitika Borough Council hereby makes a special rate of one and seventy-six hundredths of a penny (1·76d.) upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Borough of Hokitika, comprising the whole of the Borough of Hokitika; of the loan, and be payable not half-yearly, but yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of the loan, being a period of 10 years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

I, William John Richards, Mayor of the Borough of Hokitika, certify that the above is a true copy of a resolution passed by the Hokitika Borough Council on 19 February 1964 making and levying a special rate.

KAIAPOI BOROUGH COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Kaiapoi Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of securing the interest and other charges on a loan of thirteen thousand five hundred pounds (£13,500) authorised to be raised by the Kaiapoi Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of repaying portion of the debentures maturing in the Sewerage Loan 1952 the said Kaiapoi Borough Council hereby makes a special rate of decimal seven six one pence (·761d.) in the pound (£) on the unimproved value of all rateable property in the Borough of Kaiapoi, and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half yearly on the 18th day of August and the 18th day of February in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of ten (10) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

I hereby certify that the above resolution was passed at a properly constituted meeting of the Kaiapoi Borough Council held on Monday, the 24th day of February 1964.

INVERCARGILL CITY COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Electricity Loan 1963, £20,000

“THAT, pursuant to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, and for the purpose of providing the annual charges on a loan of £20,000 authorised to be raised by the Invercargill City Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of extending the electricity distribution system in the City of Invercargill and undertaking associated electrical works, the said Invercargill City Council hereby makes a special rate of decimal nought five one pence (0·051d.) in the pound on the rateable value on the basis of the unimproved value of all rateable property in the City of Invercargill, and that the said special rate shall be payable yearly on the 16th day of March in each and every year during the currency of the loan, being a period of 15 years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

I hereby certify that the above is a true and correct copy of a resolution passed at a meeting of the Invercargill City Council held on Tuesday, 25 February 1964.

PIAKO COUNTY COUNCIL

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND FOR ROAD

IN the matter of the Public Works Act 1928, notice is hereby given that the Piako County Council proposes under the provisions of the Public Works Act 1928, to take the land described in the Schedule hereto for road; and notice is hereby further given that a plan of the lands so required to be taken is deposited at the Morrinsville Borough Council Chambers, Canada Street, Morrinsville, and is open for inspection without fee by all persons during ordinary office hours.

All persons affected by the execution of this public work or by the taking of such lands who may have any well grounded objection to the execution of such works or to the taking of such lands must set forth their objections in writing, and send the same, within 40 days from the first publication of this notice, to the County Clerk, Piako County Council, Kenrick Street, Te Aroha.

MARLBOROUGH HARBOUR BOARD

NOTICE OF PROPOSED PUBLIC WORK

IN the matter of the Harbours Act 1950 and in the matter of the Public Works Act 1928, notice is hereby given that the Marlborough Harbour Board proposes, under the provisions of the above-mentioned Act, to execute a certain public work, namely a reclamation of 1·8 acres for a car park adjoining the foreshore at Picton and lying between Carey’s boatshed and the footbridge to the Victoria Domain; and notice is hereby further given that a plan of the lands affected by such public work is deposited in the public office of the said Board, situated in High Street, Picton, and is open for inspection without fee by all persons during ordinary office hours.

All persons affected by the execution of the said public work who have any objections to the execution of the said public work, not being objections to the amount or payment of compensation, must state their objections in writing and send the same within 40 days from the first publication of this notice to the Secretary-Manager of the Marlborough Harbour Board at his office in High Street, Picton.
