PORT CHALMERS BOROUGH COUNCIL
NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND
In the matter of the Public Works Act 1928, the Muni-
cipal Corporations Act 1954, and their respective amend-
ments.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Port Chalmers Borough Coun-
cil proposes under the provisions of the above-named Acts and
all other Acts, powers, and authorities enabling it in that
behalf to execute a certain public work, namely, the widening
of Hall Road, Sawyers Bay; and for the purposes of such
public work the lands described in the Schedule hereto are
required to be taken; and notice is hereby further given
that a plan of the lands so required to be taken is deposited
in the public office of the Town Clerk to the said Council
in the Municipal Offices Building at Port Chalmers and is
there open for inspection without fee by all persons during
ordinary office hours; and that all persons affected by the
execution of the said public work or the taking of the said
land should, if they have well-grounded objections to the
execution of the said public work or to the taking of the
said land, set forth the same in writing and send such writing
within 40 days from the first publication of this notice to
the Port Chalmers Borough Council addressed to the Town
Clerk at his said office.

THE MINING ACT 1926
TAKE notice that Gordon Walter McLaren, of Queenstown,
miner, and Joan Mary McLaren, his wife, have made applica-
tion for a licence for a water race, commencing at Peg A
in Simpsons Creek which is 40 chains from the bridge over
the Glenorchy Road and thence running south 10 chains to
applicant’s claim in Simpsons Creek, for the purposes of
generating power to drilling mining plant.
Gordon Walter McLaren and Joan Mary McLaren by their
solicitor, B. P. Sheehan.
Time and place appointed for the hearing of the application
and all objections thereto: Wednesday, the 28th day of August
1963, at 10 a.m., at the Warden’s Court, Cromwell.
Objections must be filed in the Registrar’s office and notified
to applicant at least three days before the time so appointed.

NELSON CITY COUNCIL
In the matter of the Municipal Corporations Act 1954, and
in the matter of the Public Works Act 1928.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Nelson City Council proposes
under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts to execute
a certain public work—namely the acquisition of land for the
purposes of pleasure grounds; and for such purposes the land
described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken. And
notice is hereby further given that a plan of the land so
required to be taken is deposited in the public office of the
Town Clerk to the said Council situated in Trafalgar Street
and is open for inspection without fee by all persons during
ordinary office hours. All persons affected by the execution
of the said public work or by the taking of such land who
have any well grounded objection to the execution of the said
public work or to the taking of the said land must state their
objections in writing and send the same within 40 days from
the first publication of this notice to the Town Clerk at the
Council Chambers, Trafalgar Street, Nelson.
