Describing the Boundaries of the Taihape Abattoir District and Specifying the Taihape Borough Council as the Controlling Authority of the Taihape Abattoir (Notice No. Ag. 7788)

PURSUANT to section 15 (7) of the Meat Act 1939, and to a delegation from the Minister of Agriculture for the purposes of the said section, notice is hereby given as follows:

  1. The Taihape Abattoir District shall henceforth comprise all that area of land described in the Schedule hereto.

  2. The Taihape Borough Council shall continue to be the controlling authority of the Taihape Abattoir.

SCHEDULE

(a) All that land within the Borough of Taihape as from time to time constituted; and

(b) All that land bounded by a line commencing at a point on the boundary between the County of Waimarino and the County of Rangitikei on the south-western corner of Section 12, Block IX, Moawhango Survey District, thence easterly along the southern boundary of the said Section 12 and a production of that boundary across the North Island Main Trunk Railway and Awanui Bluff State Highway No. 1 to the eastern side of the said highway, thence northerly along the eastern side of the aforesaid highway to the southern boundary of Section 1, Block IV, Waiouru Township, thence easterly along that boundary and northerly along the eastern boundaries of the aforesaid Section 1 and Sections 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, and 12, Block IV, Waiouru Township, and a right line across Tongariro Street and the eastern boundaries of Sections 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, and 12, Block V, Waiouru Township, thence westerly along the northern boundary of the said Section 12 to the eastern side of the Awanui Bluff State Highway, thence northerly along the eastern side of the said highway to a point on the production of the northern boundary of Section 9, Block IX, Moawhango Survey District, across the aforesaid highway, thence easterly across the highway on the aforesaid production to the north-eastern corner of Section 9, Block IX, Moawhango Survey District, being a point on the boundary between the County of Waimarino and the County of Rangitikei, thence easterly and southerly along the aforesaid boundary to the point of commencement; and also including the land described as Section G, Plan M 94, Block IX, Moawhango Survey District.

Plants Declared Noxious Weeds in the County of Waikouaiti (Notice No. Ag. 7787)

PURSUANT to section 3 of the Noxious Weeds Act 1950, and to a delegation from the Minister of Agriculture under section 9 of the Department of Agriculture Act 1953 for the purposes of the said section, the following special order, made by the Waikouaiti County Council on the 29th day of April 1963, is hereby published.

SPECIAL ORDER

THAT in exercise of the powers conferred on it by section 3 of the Noxious Weeds Act 1950, the Waikouaiti County Council resolves and declares, by way of special order, that the following plants which are included in the First Schedule to the said Act be noxious weeds within the County of Waikouaiti:

Boxthorn (Lycium ferocissimum syn. Lycium horridum).
Cape tulip (Homeria collina).
Hawthorn (Crataegus oxyacantha and Crategus monogyna).
Lupin (Lupinus aboreus).
Nassella tussock (Nassella trichotoma).
Silver poplar (Populus alba var. nivea).
Water hyacinth (Eichhornia crassipes).
Nodding thistle (Carduus nutans).

WHEREAS the Soil Conservation and Rivers Control Council is of the opinion that the unrestricted cutting of timber in the Ureweras is likely to facilitate soil erosion or floods or cause deposits in watercourses:

Now, therefore, pursuant to section 34 of the Soil Conservation and Rivers Control Amendment Act 1959 and a direction of the said Council in that behalf, duly confirmed by the Minister of Works, public notice is hereby given that the said Council has declared the cutting or removal of trees on or from the land described in the Schedule hereto, otherwise than in accordance with consents issued by the Minister of Forests prior to the date of this notice in respect of that land, to be likely to facilitate soil erosion or floods or cause deposits in watercourses; and no person shall cut or remove any trees on or from the said land otherwise than in accordance with the said consents of the Minister of Forests without the consent of the said Council first had and obtained.

Applications for consent of the Council should be addressed to the Secretary, Soil Conservation and Rivers Control Council, P.O. Box 8024, Wellington.

Station situated in Block IV, Rangitaiki Lower Survey District, and proceeding easterly along the southern boundaries of Rangitaiki Parish and Waimana Parish to the north-western corner of Section 76S, Waimana Settlement; thence southerly along the western boundaries of Sections 76S, 3, and 4, Waimana Settlement, Lots 1 and 3, D.P. 29877, the western and southern boundaries of Waimana 1c3, the southern boundary of Waimana 1c2, the south-western boundary of Waimana 1d 1b 2b 1; thence south-easterly along a right line from that point to Trig. Station B 2161 (Kaharoa) in Block II, Waioeka South Survey District; thence along another right line to Trig. Station, Te Wana, in Block II, Koranga West Survey District; thence southerly along the eastern boundary of Paharakeke and Manuoha Blocks; thence south-westerly along the southern boundary of Manuoha Block to Trig. Station, Pukepuke, in Block IV, Waikaremoana West Survey District; thence southerly along the western boundary of Block XVII, Waikaremoana Survey District; to the middle of the Mokau River; thence easterly along a right line to the north-west corner of Section 4, Block X, Tuahu Survey District; thence easterly along the northern boundary of that Section, the northern, eastern, and southern boundaries of Section 6, Block X, Tuahu Survey District, the eastern boundary of Section 4 aforesaid, the eastern and southern boundary of Section 5, Block X, Tuahu Survey District, the southern boundary of Section 2, Block IX, Tuahu Survey District, and northern, western, and southern boundaries of Section 2, Block XII, Tuahu Survey District; the western boundary of Section 1, Block XII, Tuahu Survey District; thence westerly along the southern boundaries of Section 1, Block XIX, Waikaremoana Survey District, and Urewera National Park in Block XIX aforesaid, to the southern shore of Lake Waikaremoana; thence westerly along that shore to another portion of the southern boundary of the Urewera National Park in Block XV, Waikaremoana Survey District; thence westerly generally along that southern boundary to the Maungataniwha Trig. Station in Block IX, Ahikereru Survey District; thence northerly along a right line to Puhipuhi Trig. Station; thence along a right line to Ponaua Trig. Station; thence due north to the middle of the Mangawiri Stream in Block I, Ahikereru Survey District; thence down the middle of the Mangawiri Stream and up the middle of the Whirinaki River to a point in line with the southern boundary of Galatea Settlement; thence easterly to and along that boundary and northerly along the eastern boundary of that settlement, the eastern boundary of Waiohau Block to Trig. Station O in Block VII, Rangitaiki Lower Survey District; thence north-easterly along a right line to the Hiwera Trig. Station in Block IV Rangitaiki Lower Survey District; thence north-easterly along a right line to the point of commencement.

As the same is more particularly delineated edged red on plan marked M.O.W. 1309 deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington.

Classification of Roads in Waitemata County

———

PURSUANT to regulation 3 of the Heavy Motor Vehicle Regulations 1955,* the Commissioner of Transport hereby revokes the Warrants dated the 19th day of October 1950†, the 24th day of September 1959‡, and the 22nd day of June 1962§, which relate to roads in Waitemata County and hereby approves the Waitemata County Council’s proposed classification of the roads set out in the Schedule hereto.

Green Bay County Town—All roads.
Titirangi County Town—All roads.
