Approval of Lighting for Pedestrian Crossings

Pursuant to regulation 49 of the Traffic Regulations 1956, the Commissioner of Transport hereby approves the following systems of lighting for pedestrian crossings for use in terms of regulation 100 of the Traffic Regulations 1956.

1. Street lighting up to main-route standard (as defined by the N.Z. Standards Institute’s Code of Recommended Practice for Street and Highway Lighting C.P. 53: Part 1, Main Routes) for a length of at least 500 ft on both sides of the crossing.
2. Floodlighting as recommended in the N.Z. Standards Institute’s Code of Recommended Practice for Pedestrian Crossing Lighting C.P. 54: 1962.
