Authorising the Purchase by the Taranaki Electric Power Board of Certain Electric Works from the Kaponga Town Council

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to section 76 of the Electric Power Boards Act 1925, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby authorises the purchase by the Taranaki Electric Power Board from the Kaponga Town Council of the electric works described in the Schedule hereto, upon the terms contained in a draft agreement, approved by the Minister of Electricity on the 29th day of May 1963, made between the Electric Power Board and the Town Council.
SCHEDULE
THE electric lines, reticulation, and associated equipment, the property of the Kaponga Town Council, now used for the supply of electricity to consumers within the area of supply of the said Town Council.

Authorising Eunice Dorothy Alfreda Leask, of Half-Moon Bay, Stewart Island, Householder, to Erect and Use Certain Electric Lines

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to the Public Works Act 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby authorises Eunice Dorothy Alfreda Leask, householder (hereinafter referred to as the licensee), subject to the conditions hereinafter set forth, to lay, construct, put up, place, and use the electric lines described in the Schedule hereto.
CONDITIONS
IMPLIED CONDITIONS
- The conditions directed to be implied in all licences by the Electrical Supply Regulations 1935 and the Electrical Wiring Regulations 1961 shall be incorporated in and shall form part of this licence, except in so far as the same may be inconsistent with the provisions hereof.
LICENCE SUBJECT TO REGULATIONS
- This licence is issued under the Electrical Supply Regulations 1935 and is subject thereto, and to the Electrical Wiring Regulations 1961, the Radio Interference Regulations 1958, and to all regulations hereafter made in amendment thereof or in substitution therefor respectively.
SYSTEM OF SUPPLY
- The system of supply shall be as described in paragraph (d) of regulation 21-01 of the Electrical Supply Regulations 1935, and shall be an alternating-current system at a rated pressure of 230 volts.
DURATION OF LICENCE
- Unless sooner lawfully determined this licence shall continue in force until the 31st day of March 1984.
SCHEDULE
LINES for the supply of electrical energy by the system of supply hereinbefore described, commencing from a generator and proceeding as follows:
(1) In a north-easterly direction, and then
(2) In an easterly direction to a house.
Situated in Section 50, D.P. 471, Lot 26, Block 1 Paterson Survey District, in the County of Stewart Island, the said lines and buildings being more particularly shown on the plan marked N.Z.E.D. 601 deposited in the office of the New Zealand Electricity Department at Wellington.

Appointing a Commission to Inquire into the Proposed Transmission of Electricity from the New Zealand Electricity Department’s Otahuhu Substation to its Henderson Substation

To all to whom these presents shall come, and to:
FRANK FELIX REID, Esquire, of Christchurch, retired Stipendiary Magistrate;
EDWARD ALAN MILLWARD, Esquire, O.B.E., of Wanganui, company manager; and
ROBERT WILLIAM STANNARD, Esquire, B.COM., of Wellington, Public Accountant.
GREETING:
PURSUANT to the Commissions of Inquiry Act 1908, I, Brigadier Sir Bernard Edward Fergusson, the Governor-General of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby appoint you, the said Frank Felix Reid, Edward Alan Millward, and Robert William Stannard to be a Commission to inquire into and report upon the following matters:
(1) The circumstances relating to the proposed transmission of electricity from the New Zealand Electricity Department’s Otahuhu substation to its Henderson substation:
(2) The relative merits of effecting the said proposed transmission by underground cable or by overhead line, having regard in each case to the following factors—
(a) The costs of installation, maintenance, and repair;
(b) Technical feasibility and efficiency;
(c) The degree of disturbance of land, property, or business;
(d) The effect on the amenities of the localities traversed:
(3) Whether the overhead line route proposed by the New Zealand Electricity Department is the most suitable route for such a line, having regard to the factors specified in paragraph (2) hereof, or whether any other suggested route is the most suitable route having regard to those factors:
(4) Whether any variation of the route which in the opinion of the Commission is the most suitable route for an overhead line should be made, having regard to the aforesaid factors:
And with the like advice and consent I hereby appoint you, the said Frank Felix Reid, to be Chairman of the Commission:
And for the better enabling you to carry these presents into effect you are hereby authorised to conduct any inquiry under these presents at such times and places as you deem expedient, with power to adjourn from time to time and from place to place as you think fit, and so that these presents shall continue in force and the inquiry may at any time and place be resumed although not regularly adjourned from time to time or from place to place:
And you are hereby strictly charged and directed that you shall not at any time publish or otherwise disclose, save to me in pursuance of these presents or by my direction, the contents or purport of any report made or to be made by you, or any evidence or information obtained by you in the exercise of the powers hereby conferred upon you except such evidence or information as is received in the course of a sitting open to the public:
And, using all diligence, you are required to report to me in writing under your hands not later than the 31st day of August 1963 your findings and opinions on the matters aforesaid, together with such recommendations as you think fit to make in respect thereof.
Given in Executive Council under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General this 29th day of May 1963.
